4/5 for this one! This was such a cute graphic novel. Aster is a great character. The artwork is fabulous. I will be continuing the series.

Today I'm making my way through the three volumes of the Fence graphic novel. Finished volume 1.
I flew through all 3 volumes of this series in no time. So. Much. Fun! I knew nothing about fencing before. Loved the artwork. Lots of LGBTQ rep. So easy to get immersed in. Can‘t wait for the YA novel by Sarah Rees Brennan based on this series. I want more! Loved it!!🤺❤️📚😀
Surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did . I don‘t know anything about fencing but this graphic novel explains the basics to noobs like me which made me like it more. A coming of age , underdog, teenage story . Full of boyish charm. 🤺
This review is for volume one, which was charming. The art was pretty, the plot was quick. I am into the fencing and the rivalry. And I want to know more about the characters. Will definitely be picking up the next volume.
Bk5 of my #24in48 #readathon is done. This is a marvelous #lgbtqa+ #queerread about the fencing team at a prestigious boys boarding school. Loved the art, loooved the story & especially loved how the she‘s written the queer aspects of the story, like it‘s a normal thing, which is how it should be written. Definitely picking up Vol2👍
I wanted to like this more than I did. I enjoyed the info on fencing, the family drama, and even the drive for a rematch, but it just drops off. Even as part of a larger story, this is still a complete volume. There isn‘t one wrapped-up storyline to be found! I‘ll give Vol 2 a try, but I‘m disappointed in the lack of a whole story in this one.
#BookMail Pt2 I‘ve heard great things about this graphic novel series. I love the fact that even comics are becoming #lgbtqa aware, plus the art & story are fantastic. Definitely be collecting the rest! #loveislove #privateschoolboys #boyswithswords

The TBR jar is treating me mighty well tonight! I adored Pacat‘s Captive Prince series so much that I‘ve been taking my time reading this one, worried it might not live up to my expectations, but it was flawless and the art is lovely. 💕
I enjoy being friends with comics scholars so I can find out about great series! Also thankful that our public library invests in these. Solid intro of characters and basic plot, and does a good job of making a somewhat obscure sport accessible. Would be great for fans of the anime Yuri on Ice.
