I haven‘t yet read the tagged book, though I probably should. I haven‘t done much reading this weekend as I am in London, because tomorrow I‘m doing my first ever marathon! I‘m weirdly excited but also absolutely terrified!

Kathrine Switzer, first female woman participating in a marathon but she did it undercover, races were not for women in 1967!The race coordinator discovered her and tried to take her out, but she persisted! Finished it!Five years later other women participated in the Olympics marathon! There is a video showing her struggling to continue with the race beyond any obstacle!I wanted to share this with you since I'm trying to do another event, someday.
Plum blossoms on today‘s audio walk! I‘ve been listening to Marathon Woman by Kathrine Switzer who ran the Boston Marathon in 1967. I don‘t usually do audiobooks, but I like that it‘s read by the author!

And even better, the Honolulu Marathon women's winner Brigid Kosegi of Kenya 🇰🇪finished & (officially/unofficially) came in at 2:22:12, breaking the race record by 5 minutes AND shattering her last year's Honolulu Marathon record by over 8 minutes!! She was the sixth finisher overall & was faster on her second half of the race with an injury from mile 5!Amazing! 🎉OK, your Honolulu Marathon race reports are done! Back to reading & breakfast.😆
Sorry that I have been MIA for the last couple of days! I have been running races to earn these medals!
