This was okay. I liked the story but the male narrator was really annoying. If it hadn‘t been so short, I may have given up.

Well. I landed on this one after frantically searching for a short holiday audio to listen to while jigsaw puzzling. I‘ve never read this author, and figured, why not- if nothing else, I‘ll get a taste of an author who‘s very popular with my library‘s patrons. Well, it‘s a simple enough story.. but overwrought and full of one dimensional cliched characters. And yes, the female MC is a trained chef… but the “joke” of the old guy⬇️

This one was different than most of the other Debbie Macomber books I have read. I think I liked how different it was. The characters were great, one of them was hilarious. It had some humor while still being serious for most of the story.

Finished this one earlier today. It wasn‘t as much of a holiday read as I thought it was going to be. Though they did celebrate thanksgiving and had Christmas decorations. A lot of the relationship happened off screen. We don‘t meet the couple until 6 months of them spending time together. And there was so much pining. So annoying. Good thing it was short

5 stars. I enjoy any books with Alaska as the backdrop. Nice, wintry quaint read. Some exciting travel, interesting profession, and a budding romance. Explores fate, unexpected romance, and chef cook at a resort. Makes me wanna be a chef. 😁

This is the second holiday book I‘ve read that was set in Alaska by this author. I loved the first one and I loved this one too! I felt like there were a few gaps in time that could have been filled or accounted for but overall a great story! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A bit over 7 hour and I am calling it a wrap.

Aww what a lovely holiday romance with a rugged Alaskan man.

I‘ve collected so many Christmas books this past year...😅 Only a handful of these are on my mega #BookSpinBingo TBR, but I still plan on reading some of them. I‘m definitely hoping to get through the Chicken Soup books, Mutts and Mistletoe, A Christmas Carol and Silent Night. Oh boy.... should I make another #BookSpinBingo board of these books so I can get more points for the #MerryReaders? 😂

This is the best book I‘ve read by Debbie MaComber in awhile. Follow along as Palmer falls head over heels in love with Josie. Will Josie fall for Palmer too? Read it peeps. It‘s worth it.

3.75⭐️
After spending the summer in Alaska, Josie needs to get back to Seattle for her dream chef job but she misses the last ferry off the island. Stranded and completely blaming Palmer and his marriage proposal, she needs to figure out how to get back home.
I picked this up because I absolutely love stories with food in it and I‘ve always wanted to go to Alaska. This seemed like the perfect combo for me but it fell a little flat for me.

Loved it but it‘s not really a Christmas holiday book even though that‘s the vide you get from the cover. The ending is at Christmas time and that‘s about it. #wintergames

The best part of watching Hallmark movies you get like 15 minutes of commercials to read lol

This is billed as a #ChristmasVacation story but really the MC is actually working in Alaska so it‘s a bit deceptive. Still a fun, light-hearted romance novel, though.

Will this book change the world? No. Does it pass the (flawed) Bechdel test. No. Is it a fun bit of seasonal escapism? Yes. Hardened feminists won‘t enjoy this, but I found it a nice bit of light relief after some quite heavy books recently. And it‘s my first proper #HolidayRead for #WinterGames #ReadNosedReindeer @StayCurious @Clwojick

Starting another Christmas romance. Love this author and her Christmas stories.

This was the first book I've read by Debbie Macomber and I am in love!!! #tbrread #holidayread #WinterGames # jingleBallers 36 pts!

Forgot my book so I downloaded an ebook! CHRISTMAS LIGHTS view + Toasted Marshmallow Latte ☕️🎄

Part of me hopes that they turn this into a Hallmark Christmas movie...🤗
Cute book to read around the holidays or just on a cold snowy afternoon ☃️🎄❄️

Hard to see because of the fog, but this is the view from the cabin my boyfriend and I are staying at this weekend. We have very limited internet access, so we‘re enjoying a mostly disconnected time!
Now onto reading!

Light fun read but not a huge favorite. The one character was 50 but the way he was described you would think he‘s 80. And he was a PITA.

“There was a lending library in town, too, for locals and visitors. Lilly Appleton willingly lent books...”
💙📚❤️

I was drawn to this because of the cover. My kids got it for me for Christmas. 📖🌲❄️🏠
4 ✴️s Thought this was a cute read. Definitely was an easy read. Enjoyed the book.

Visiting my godmother today. She‘s taking this book on her flight. 👍🏼

I really enjoyed an Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber. It‘s a warm and cozy read that was easy to fly through. If you need a feel good book to get you out of a slump this might just do the trick.

First holiday book of the season was a sweet read 💙

Alaskan Holiday is a really good example of what I don‘t like in a book. Sappy romance, a pretend strong female character, bad grammar, terrible plot, and over all not put together well. Upside: there is a dog. It's not the worst book I've read all year, but it's in the top three! Which means, in all hopefulness, that the reading quality can only go up the rest of the month!

Was typical holiday fare from her. Not exactly groundbreaking, but nice to read a little holiday book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Typical holiday fare from Macomber. I liked it but it would have been better as a full length story with the entire relationship development. 🌲🌲🌲 #romantsy #christmasread

I cannot resist a Debbie Macomber Christmas book. I loved this one and honestly it made me want to visit Alaska.

Cuddling with two girls while watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and hoping to get more of this read.

Time to start some holiday reading!! And it was a Goodreads win!!🎄⛄️🎅🏼🤓

As much as I‘ve been enjoying Kingdom of Ash, I really need to get this one read before Thanksgiving so I can give it to my mama.

Debbie Macomber is one of the authors that made me fall in love with reading many years ago and this book didn't disappoint. It was a quick Christmas romance read. It had me rooting for Palmer and Josie to get their happy ending!
