#3books I bailed on.
I just couldn‘t do it.
I have enjoyed reading a number of titles in the Bishop Files series and I was looking forward to a suspenseful but ultimately satisfying conclusion. Unfortunately it did not work out that way. The switch from supernatural to science fiction felt abrupt. To be fair though there had been some foreshadowing of this plot twist in previous titles. Character development was weaker than normal for this author. It is difficult to keep a series fresh.
I'm tapping out. 100 pages and NOTHING has really happened. All cryptic talk going nowhere. It's sad why to end the series because I used to love this books.
This was my March #DoubleSpin @TheAromaofBooks selection. This one's heading to the library donation box.
A little treat with my book this evening.
Super Creepy morning..
I was putting on my boots this morning and staring at my bookshelf trying to decide what to read next. Final Shadows jumped out at me.
Then I get to work and checked Litsy to find out that the #DoubleSpin Number is 7, which is....Final Shadows. It was meant to be read this month.
My #20 #BookSpin selection is The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*CK.
Both are solid picks.
Thanks @TheAromaofBooks for this very fun challenge.
I‘m so sad. 😢 I don‘t think I‘ve ever given a bad rating on here. I‘ve bailed on some but never really blamed the book, more myself. I‘ve read all of Hooper‘s books and enjoyed them, that‘s why I finished this one. What a disappointment. The synopsis was misleading, everyone was talking in riddles, and nothing really happened until the very end. It won‘t dissuade me from reading her again but another one like this will definitely be a bail!!
