Despite going back to work today, I did manage to get in a walk. I feel like between my vacation and doctors that I haven‘t been at work for a full week in quite awhile!

Gina's local cooking show has been canceled, and her only chance at a new show is a competition show called a Food Fight. If she can beat Tate, the star of an outdoorsy cooking and hunting show, her dreams of a national tv show will come true. I loved it. It's filled with MKA's southern humor and heart. She's a master at creating characters you immediately love when you start the book, and immediately miss when you finish it.

For someone who loves to cook as much as I do, I've read very little #foodiefiction. I did read this MKA novel about two people vying for a Food Network show. The title always makes me think of pie, my favorite thing to bake. We're at our son's home, and I found this picture of shoo-fly pie in one of their cookbooks. Having grown up in eastern PA, this was childhood comfort food that I'd bake with my grandmother. #readJanuary
