This was a solid “meh” for me. That‘s about all I can say.
This is one of my favorite books. 💗💗 I brought it to a book exchange I hosted over the weekend all about feel good books!

But how could you have a heart when everyone wanted to tear off pieces? And everyone did, until there was nothing left [...] Everyone tearing like wolves.
I keep waiting to post pics from the “new” shelves in the guest room, and let‘s face facts, it‘s better to just post an honest photo. So here‘s what I‘m looking at instead of getting ready for work. (And yes. It‘s all double stacked. Except for Virginia Woolf and Edith Wharton - I promised them they‘d be visible at all times.)
Currently living my best "the work to-do list is finished but you want to stay for the building wide happy hour" life. Fin and Lady + iced tea + the most comfortable chair in the building ??
"If no one misses you, you don't really exist."
Do you agree? #litdebate
I liked this. It tells the story of Fin, who is orphaned, and his half-sister Lady, who becomes his guardian. I won't say anything else so I won't spoil it! #LitsyAtoZ #LetterF #ChangedtheAtoZlistagain
My sister is a stay at home mom with three kids and says that lately reading keeps her sane. I am so excited that this box of books is almost ready to be shipped to her. I always try to keep an eye out for things she might like to read too even though we have pretty different tastes. #booksfromboxes #junetunz
I read this over the weekend and it would be a good #beachread. Set in the 60s, Fin is 11 when he is sent to live with the half sister he barely knows. Lady is impulsive and, while she loves Fin, ill equipped to be a guardian. The story is told from Fin's point of view so characters are never fully developed outside of his perspective. I can see how that might drive people crazy but it worked for me. Humor and tears. #splashintosummerreading
Love the cover of my current read. The blue skies and scenery make me want to grab my passport and book a flight. Luckily we have blue skies of our own in San Francisco today. #mrblueskies #junetunz
#TBRtemptation post 3! 1964, 11-year-old Fin & his glamorous older half-sister, Lady, have been orphaned, & she's his legal guardian now...& he hasn't seen her in 6 years. When he moves in with her from a farm in rural Connecticut to Greenwich Village, they find she's as much his responsibility too. They live together through the Swinging '60s, with its civil rights movement & Vietnam War. Fin protects Lady & she him.#blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Ok but just didn't capture me...too bad because the characters had a lot of promise, but the story somehow didn't go deep enough to suck me in...
This #underhypedbooks day has me thinking today! I'd like to add Fin & Lady to this list. A lovely summer read too! #Augustphotochallenge
