Just signed up for this super fun reading challenge! It‘s perfect because I love my zodiac sign and because the challenge is during my birthday month! ♊️
#readyoursign
Taking the prompt literally today. My current read has a blue cover, there‘s a cloudless sky today in NC, and I got in some pool time this morning. #songsofsummer #summertimeblues
This is not a very impressive #junetbr, but I have two trips this month and I know I won‘t get as much reading done as I normally do!
I might not have picked up this book but my sister chose it for my birthday and I‘m glad. It was pretty good and I enjoyed reading it.
Would you just look at that cover! I love it when my books come in at the bookstore :D
Gripping story of conjoined twins Claire and Hailey. At 17, it's all too clear that their lives' dreams are not the same. Surgical separation is an option but....
I chose Gemini because of the cover, but with the reservation that it wasn't an #ownvoices book. I thought she did a decent job, though it's hard for me to judge that. The book was let down by the cliche, teen-movie ending.
And that's #litsyrc24 in my #litsyreadingchallenge! On Kindred, for #litsyrc22, takes place over 150 years ago.
This novel was an interesting look into the lives of conjoined twins. The chapters alternated between the twins' perspectives and their voices were very similar. I sometimes had difficulty telling them apart. The secondary characters weren't very well developed and a lot of the narrative focused on the fact that they were conjoined instead of just having it be one aspect of who they are. Still, I got involved in the plot and enjoyed the book.
I can't wait for my 13 year old to read this. It was a beautiful story of empathy, compassion, fear, and bravery.
I beat the afternoon traffic through Orange County and arrived early for my meeting. That calls for my favorite beverage and some quiet for my favorite activity. Have to keep the car on and the air conditioner running. 80 degrees in October; only in SoCal. 🚗🚙🚗☀️📚#travelingwithbooks #commute #socal
Gemini is about conjoined twins in senior year of high school. If you've ever read Fangirl, Hailey is the Wren (the bold one who wants to get out & have new experiences) while Clara is the Cath (the reserved one who wants to stay in her comfort zone) — a dynamic made much more complicated since they are literally attached at the hip. While they must deal with navigating boys & college, their own unique relationship is what really drives the story.
I learned a new word today.
