Hey #TeamSlaughter!!

Our judge @MrBook has tallied up the points, and the amounts are in. #TeamSlaughter wasn‘t too far behind #TeamStoker, and all in all I think both teams are doing SCARY good! A special shout out to @LokiDokey @overtheedge and @britt_reads who were the top 3 contributors! Woohoo!!! 🥳🥳

The fun is just beginning, so lets keep racking in those points and we‘ll see which team comes out on top next week! Go #TeamSlaughter!

Bookwormjillk We‘ll catch up next week! 5y

Lizpixie @Clwojick I‘m now up to 31 & still counting. We‘ll kick their butts next week🥊 5y
SaturnDoo @Bookwormjillk We will...I'm on fall break for a week starting at 1 PM today 😂😁😊 5y
Clwojick @Bookwormjillk @Lizpixie @SaturnDoo That‘s the spirit! We‘ve got this! I hurt my back this morning, but on the plus side... I‘m going to rest and read Halloween comics. Always gotta look at the bright side, right? 😂 5y
MoonWitch94 Do I need to put the point totals in my post?? I‘ve seen some of our teammates do that & I wasn‘t sure if that was true or not? @Clwojick 5y
overtheedge @Clwojick My point total is different than the one posted. I must be scoring them wrong. Do we get one point per movie watched, or 2?? Hope your back feels better! 5y
FantasyChick What @MoonWitch94 said 😂 I have been trying to post but haven't been keeping track of points. Weekend is coming up and I have a whole list of Halloween movies to watch so expect to be bombarded for the next 2 days!!! 5y
Bookwormjillk I hope your back feels better @Clwojick 5y
Clwojick @MoonWitch94 I‘ve been tracking them all. You just need to tag me in your posts. 5y
Clwojick @overtheedge 1 point for watching the movie, plus 1 participation point for posting 😉 5y
Clwojick @FantasyChick I‘ve got it all tracked, so long as you tag me in the posts. 🖤 5y
MoonWitch94 @Clwojick thank you for clarifying! Go Team Slaughter 🔪🎃🕯🍂🖤🍁🧡📚 5y
overtheedge @Clwojick if we get 2 points a movie my total should be 50. 5y
Lizpixie @Clwojick is MrBook counting the participation points as well? 5y
Clwojick He‘s double checking our tallies, and posting them as judge! 🙃 5y
Clwojick @overtheedge I‘ll double check my points, but this is only as of midnight my time, last night. 🙌🏻 5y
hes7 Maybe this has been asked already, but do movies have to be “scary,” or can they just be “Halloween”? 5y
Clwojick @hes7 Both count! Halloween theme, scary, Thrillers, horror, etc. 5y
overtheedge @Clwojick Its probably me, not tagging you!!. It's no big deal to me, personally, I'm thinking of team points....I will be sure to tag you in my posts! 5y

Enjoyable supernatural mystery set in an English High School. It has the bonus of being written by someone who actually lives in the U.K. and knows the system so the turn of phrase, imagery and characters all felt authentic. Already looking for the next volume.

This took me a little longer than I'd expected to get into, but it's totally my genre: silliness, wit, quirky mysteries, and a fairly satisfying tie-up at the end. Will definitely pick up the next.

Bradleygirl These are so great. They can be seen online since originally a webcomic 7y
jmtrivera @Bradleygirl Yes, I've read some of Allison's previous comics online and really liked it, but this was the first time I've read these! 😊 7y

I don't have any books about #rain, but one of my favorite things to read during rain these days is graphic novels. This is one I'm currently reading. #JubilantJuly @RealLifeReading

Bradleygirl I love these. 😎 7y
jmtrivera @Bradleygirl I've read other things by the same author, but not this comic. Really enjoying it so far! 7y

I have reread my whole collection of Giant Days so often between issues that I needed a new source of John Allison! This series takes quite a different tilt (supernatural mysteries) but it is just as full of likable, goofy characters and witty dialogue. I think I need to go find ALL of them now.

I somehow missed a whole section of graphic novels at my library! Correcting this terrible oversight immediately.

Still not technically doing the #springcleaningreadathon but this is the second book from my TBR list that I've finished today. Yay! And it works for one of my #LitsyAtoZ empty spots. But I'm tired now, so review later. Goodnight, friends. 😴

This is reminiscent of Giant Days if it was set in grammar school.

LeanneAslin Just read "Bobbins" this weekend and it has loads of moments like this! 8y
RealLifeReading Well you had me at Giant Days 8y
emtobiasz Love Bad Machinery! I read John Allison's webcomics for years before he started Giant Days. 8y

Good news! Bad Machinery vol 1 is being released in March as a "pocket version"! If you've seen/read these books, they are huge and unwieldy. Impossible to read in bed. ? This new version is 9x6 inches and it'll only be $10!

WhatDeeReads That's great news! 8y

Don't you hate it when all the books you requested through ILL come in at once?
Yeah me either. 😋 #weekendreads

While there are so many differences between Giant Days & Bad Machinery, John Allison's characters seem to all have a firm grasp of droll wit and BFF snark. If 12 year old me knew I could talk this way I'd be, like, omigod, totally stoked (it was the 90s, Cher from Clueless was my linguistic idol).

Totally fell down the John Allison (Giant Days genius/God) rabbit hole. The trades of his Bad Machinery series are gargantuan and impossible to read in bed, so Comixology got my cash again. No regrets. This is page 5. I'm hooked!

abbiereadsbooks Aannndddd I definitely have to read this now. 9y
