A group biography of Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon, this should have been a really interesting insight into creative women in rapidly changing times. Instead it was so heavily populated by other people it became an often confusing jumble of the remembrances and observations of bystanders. #Overkill on the details about everybody else. #MarchIntoOz

Love love this book!

OMG! I finally finished this book! not a pick since the writing style drove me nuts. I love all these women and enjoyed learning more about them, however i was disappointed as there were just too many details and tangents about people who knew other people and then their stories. I borrowed the audiobook and turned up the speed else I never would've made it through!

such a #slowread! i was getting bogged down and had to switch to something else for a while. I give it 3 "brain melts!" I love the subject but the writing takes all my concentration and focus to get through. Convoluted sentences that run on and too much detail about things that don't seem to matter. I'm over 200 pages, however, so I will persevere ? #readjanuary @RealLifeReading

This nonfiction book is all about these three musicians - Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Carly Simon. It's as much a social history about the times (60s and 70s primarily) as it is about their musical talents and journeys. My husband is a huge Joni Mitchell fan, so I grabbed the audio book for him and ended up also enjoying it myself.
