This book is one of those that isn‘t complete without the illustrations. This was a fun read! Is it one story? Is it four? Are they related? It would definitely inspire discussion! #ChildrensLitClass
Spring 2020, here I come! 😄 Creative Writing, American Multicultural Lit, Children‘s Lit, & Healthy, Wealthy & Wise. I‘m always more excited for class after I get my books! 😊 #FutureEnglishTeacher
Black and white is an impressively written MF book by David Macaulay. It is a Caldecott medal award winner. I would have this book be a PR. It would be great for partners. https://hmhbooks.com/author/David-Macaulay/2235933 #LAE3414SU19
This book is weird and really shouldn't be read to younger children because it has so many different parts moving at the same time.
Caldecott and was written in 1990. This book was one of the strangest formats that I've ever seen for a book but it works with the story. The book was multiple versions of one story on each page. The first is about a boy on a train, then the boy talking about his life, the cows and finally the people waiting for the train.
“ is that no matter how far they go, they always come back - when they want to be milked”
Four different stories were going on at once. It was hard to follow.
This book had different stories going on at once. It was very confusing and hard to keep track of each one. It was about a boy coming home to see his parents, cows, burglars, newspaper, and a train station,
This RF book is incredible, and it‘s hard to describe. Is it four different stories, or is it one story? I have no clue! But it uses four different art styles that beautifully contrast each other, so it‘s no wonder it won the Caldecott! It is anything but black and white! This book would make a great RA, S, SR, CR, or PR. This book would be great to teach children how to read together, and to see stories from different angles.
