#1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Goldberg hits the ground running in a breakneck thriller where truth and fiction collide for the unluckiest writer alive. When a passenger jet crashes onto the beaches of Waikiki, bestselling thriller writer Ian Ludlow knows the horrific tragedy wasn't an accident.Years before, the CIA enlisted Ian to dream up terrorism scenarios to prepare the government for nightmares they couldn't imagine. Now one of those schemes has come true, and Ian is the only person alive who knows how it was done...and who is behind the plot. That makes him too dangerous to live.Ian goes on the run, sweeping up an innocent bystander in his plight--Margo French, a dog walker and aspiring singer. They are pursued by assassins and an all-seeing global-intelligence network that won't stop until Ian and Margo are dead. Ian has written thrillers like this before, but this time he doesn't know how it's going to end--or if he will be alive to find out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
While maybe not rich in realism, this one was chock full of escapist fun.

I can‘t decide how to rate this book - pick or pan? So I‘m opting just commentary. This is absolutely the cheesiest book I have ever read. It‘s comical in how ridiculous the plot is but yet I read it all. I was going to use it for a #ReadingUSA2019 prompt but the setting was all over the place. Too bad.

This is a theatrical conspiracy theory wrapped up in a tongue-in-cheek espionage thriller that is not meant to be taken too seriously. In order to enjoy it you will have to suspend plausibility and take it for the satire that it was intended to be. For me, there were many moments of humor as well as other moments of feeling an eye roll or two coming on. Full review at www.thegenreminx.com #bookreviewer #TheGenreMinxBookReviews

This is the 1st of a series & my 1st read for this author. I like a good detective/gov conspiracy novel & the plot for this was new & fresh. However, the authors crude use of sexual humor & sexism...yeah, yeah, including a female sidekick doesn't make it less sexist...was a disappointment. If you like an easy entertaining read & aren't bothered by the #metoo movement this is ok.
