I think this volume is even better than the first. I‘m late to get into comics, I just didn‘t read them when I was a kid, & I won‘t say that was a good or bad thing but I‘m definitely enjoying making up for lost time. Swamp Thing feels very old school, alongside Saga, Runaways, Deadly Class etc..., but it‘s exploration of what makes us human, death, love, good/bad, science, environment, is timeless & makes for great stories. Enjoying this series.

“...discovering with amazement that comics had the same capacity to disturb and unsettle that the best prose and film had.”

Truth.

Some mornings you just wake up and say, “You know what? I feel like reading Swamp Thing.” So that‘s what I‘m going to do. On to Book 2–I‘m not entirely sure I‘m reading a revised edition but that‘s all that came up in Litsy. Oh, and I just discovered the forward is by Neil Gaiman. So yeah, that‘s the morning made.

The swamp thing has been been one of the few series of comic books that I‘ve bought. I absolutely love the art and the story lines. I was really excited starting this after enjoying book one and this hasn‘t let me down one bit. Finished it within a day 😍 #comicbooks #DCcomics #reading #twincities #mpls #swampthing
