Rambling my way through the Ravenels series. I started with book 2, then 1, 5, and now 4. 😆
I enjoyed this one about Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female physician in England, and Ethan Ransom. But West‘s story (book 5) is still my fave.

The relationship between Garrett and Ethan was beautiful and their seamless back and forth dialogue, the passion, heat, and dedication was something born from the previous interactions of the previous books that was allowed to grow into this one and I sighed and giggled while reading it.
I really thought nothing could beat out Pandora but then here comes Garret which brings along Ethan and I'll be honest, it's Ethan that sells this book to me.
Solid Kleypas romance. Loved watching Dr Garrett Gibson, the only woman Dr in England, fall in love with the dangerous damaged spy with a heart of gold. #Booked2021 #Winter4 #drmc @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage
Another great Kleypas historical romance. Loved the added element of a little danger to the romance.
Book Four in the Ravenels series did not speak to me as much as the first three. While I liked the main characters, the sparkle from the prior three books just was not there. Still, good distraction reading filled with romance and a dollop of suspense.
Happy Valentine's Day!!! I'm on a roll with Lisa Kleypas's The Ravenels series. In the fourth book in the series, Hello Stranger, the romance is between Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female doctor in England, and Ethan Ransom, an illegitimate Ravenel who is a spy for the government. Here's what I love: I love Garrett, who is a matter-of-fact feminist, someone who faces controversy daily but perseveres; ⬇️
Pros: Can‘t miss! This is excellent writing. Our heroine is a talented female doctor for a heroine. The hero is equally talented. I enjoyed cameos from other characters in the series. I even enjoyed a rather shameless few chapters devoted to setting up the next book. Cons: I‘m not sure what Hamlet has to do with anything. It‘s either a moral lesson I missed, or a plot point yet to be revealed. Pokie wasn‘t impressed.
A reread before digging in to the new book. Dr. Garrett Gibson and Ethan Ransom are both a bit strange for their time and come together as a lovely couple who out a big government conspiracy.
#BookishBingo & #ISpy: Book includes a recipe
I really adored this one! Garret and Ethan are a perfect match for each other and I just melted at the scenes between them. Also, it was great to catch up with West. I cannot to get started on his book. Hmm... I wonder if my theory on Ms. Kleypas putting Cassandra Ravenel and Tom Severin together proves true. That would be a great story to end a great series! ❤❤❤
1) Historical romance, especially Lisa Kleypas!
2) Going to an annual ice festival tomorrow. Been there before and the sculptures are beautiful.
3) What‘s not to love about a badass female physician in Victorian London who fights off assailants with a cane?
4) None that I can think of off hand, but I‘m sure I‘ve got some! 😂
5) 🙌🏼

Just okay. I find the romances I like the best are the ones that make me cry tears of happiness. I liked the characters, but I didn‘t feel too connected to them or their story.
Still plugging away on this one , I have been distracted by CloudLibrary books, Christmas books etc. So decided to spend a bit of time with The Ravenels at lunch 🥙 Christmas Eve 🎄🐉
Dr Garrett Gibson meets her match in the dangerous Ethan Ransom but Mr Ransom lives a precarious life. Hot, intense, and loads of fun. Dr. Gibson is nobody‘s fool.
All the stars ⭐️ for this one!! One of the best historical romances I‘ve read in a while. I can always count on Lisa Kleypas to deliver a steamy page turner! Perfect read on a cool, autumn afternoon.
Another entry into my beloved Ravenels family. This time we get Garrett and Ethan. I loved how logical Garrett was until she wasn't. I am so like her at times and it was wonderful to see a woman who thinks like me in a romance. Ethan was the one far more in tune with his emotions and the use of language. The see him fight his feelings while still being drawn to Garrett was lovely.
Goodbye book that is not catching my attention! I may try another title by this same author since I've heard so many good things about her, but this one is not for me!
I‘ve put off reading this book cause I never really cared much about Garrett but I was surprised how much I enjoyed her in this book and I thought that Ransom was the perfect man for her❤️ that being said while I liked it this was my least favorite of the Ravenels books so far but I‘m so excited that West and Phoebe are next!!🤗
My first Lisa Kleypas! I hope it's a good one to start with (although I do think it's part of a series). I had put a hold on this book at the library forever ago and totally forgot about it until it came in! #Romantsy
This series is seriously one of my favourites. Garrett and Ethan‘s story has been one I‘ve been waiting for and I was not disappointed. They just work so well together and bring out the best in each other. Garret is so smart, sassy, and wilful and she will not let anyone tell her what she can and cannot do.
Errand pit stop. Since I was already here decided to get some pages in. My library copy of this came in hardcover and I was like ????
This is hands-down my favorite of The Ravenel series!! Not only do I adore the badass Dr. Garrett, but the hero Ethan is knee-weakeningly wonderful! I don‘t want to spoil anything, but I suggest if you love a solid historical romance, this is a masterful read!!
Soul-scorching love... he‘s worried that no one will bring her flowers!! #cuethewaterworks 😭😭😭😭
You won‘t regret picking this up... SO GOOD. I love EVERYTHING about this book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Un-put-down-able. I was so excited to get a book from Garrett's perspective, as the only female doctor in London. This did not disappoint. There was great chemistry and suspense. I meant to only read the first chapter and ended up staying up late to read over half in one night. #romantsy
Yay, Garrett got her own book! Now I can't wait for West's...
Garrett, the female doctor who makes an appearance in earlier Ravenel books, is such an intriguing character! And this story has a nice element of suspense. Very enjoyable.
Starting a new #audiobook today! I‘ve been looking forward to this one! #romantsy
The most thriller-like of K‘s work as the secret service hero tells the doctor heroine early that he‘s going to risk his life to expose a Deep State. The climax occurs midway (like Devil in Winter) & Garrett‘s medical grit is portrayed vividly. The 2nd half builds the fledgling romance.Ethan‘s tie to Devon & West is revealed. Feminist, but cliched references to the Kama Sutra & learning martial arts from a nameless Indian “guru” are uncool #romantsy
Eek! All my holds came today! Starting tagged one first (probably)
This was a hard one because there are many books to chose from, so I‘ll go with one of my favorite writers. Swoon worthy heroes, strong, smart heroines, and amazing female friendships. Ms. Kleypas is a wonderful storyteller and the research she does for her historicals shows. #marchinbooks #bestromance
Garett and Random‘s tale was filled with angst and intrigue. Garett was no shy miss. It happily includes West who is a fan favorite. His story is next. Cannot wait since it would seem to include Lord St Vincent and Evie.
So...the Ravenels. Some characters in this series may be my favorite individual characters in romance—Helen, Winterborne, Garrett, Ransom, West. All good there. But these books all start out fabulous and ultimately fizzle out. I loved the main couple in this book, but the romance was tied up too quickly for me. I will still read the next book—West and Phoebe‘s book—but I‘m going to lower my expectations from my favorite romance novelist.
Question: has anyone read this yet? I just read a rather awful review, and it worries me...! I‘ve been waiting for this one for quite some time and really want it to be as fantastic as the rest of the series! Please let me know...! 😥😥😥😥
#ARC #Review: Hello, Stranger by @lisakleypas with @avonbooks. I am head over heels for this dark and delicious hero, Ethan Ransom.⠀
