This is an interesting read of finding one self through love and discovery through art.

I'm a sucker for anything set in the 1920s, plus I absolutely love the cover of this book! It's on sale today for $1.99 and I couldn't resist! #1920s #roaringtwenties #kindle #sale #historicalfiction #flapper
#BookTubeathon is going very well for me. This is the 3rd book I've finished in 3 days. It's quite nice when you have a lot of free time during a week-long readathon. I started this book this morning about 4 am when I woke up too early and just finished it around 9 pm. Not bad for a 300-page book. Haven't decided what I will pick up tomorrow.
I can be difficult taking an authors picture when they are talking, but here is a pic of Amber Brock discussing her book and offering tips to aspiring authors. This is my second author signing this year that was hosted by my library. I love them! Gwinnett County Library.
I have never read this author before but I'm at her book signing today - because I love book signings!!! Are there any Littens out there who have read this book???
A perfect #Sunday! A good #book and #coffee!!

Today's #ReadJanuary selection for #dressesonthecover. It is also my selection for F in #LitsyAtoZ. It also fulfills the #debutnovel category for #ReadHarder, although I'm reading something else for that. To top it off, it's just plain beautiful. I mean really.
This book was a struggle for me initially, primarily because of the way it is written. The author jumps back and forth between 1913, when the main character Eva Longacre is attending Vassar, and 1923 when she has since left college and is married to a very wealthy man. Once I picked the book back up, I finished it within about two hours. A tale of love, friendship, loneliness, privilege and freedom, this book turned out to be a wonderful read.
Vera Bellington lives a life of wealth but with constraints. A Fine Imitation by Amber Brock is her story in a world of art and the 1920s. This book is Vera's story and remains true to the narrow focus. A static main character? Yes. Predictable? Yes. Entertaining? Yes. Memorable? Probably not.
This was an enjoyable, quick read which alternates chapters from the point of view of the main character, Vera, during her time at Vassar in the 1910's and the book's present, the 1920's NYC. There were a few obvious plot turns and some labored storytelling to tie the two settings. Overall thumbs up
My local independent bookstore, Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Cincinnati, was giving away advance readers editions of soon-to-be released titles today as a part of their Independent Bookstore Day celebrations. I received "A Fine Imitation" by Amber Brock. Can't wait to read it! Love the cover, too?
