Family drama 100% with funny parts. Too long but I was interested to know about characters chaotic lives. Scarlet and Feather are two friends that decided to have a business in something similar to a catering. But many things happen to own the place and they also need to face their respective families and couples. A predictable ending. 3⭐️I love these editions and the end papers are also beautiful

I feel like I just binged a Netflix series of Virgin River or Sweet Magnolias. but in Dublin with Maeve and her cast of characters. I physically mapped the characters out straight away so I had no problem keeping track of who was who. I was a fly on the walls of Scarlet Feather going from print to audio (the accent!) to print again. Three days and every bit as fun as a Netflix binge. And look at these end papers!

Maeve Binchy is the definition of comfort reading for me. I think I love the sweeping decades-long sagas of 20th century Ireland most, but I have a soft spot for these interconnected Dublin novels. It's delightful to encounter the same charming characters over and over. Maud & Simon are the kind of kids this childless woman thinks she'd like to hang out with but I suspect they would have me tied in knots &seeking escape in 15 minutes or less 😃

This book, centered around a caterer, made me want to class up my afternoon snack 🧀 🍇

Dublin Ireland: Cathy Scarlet & Tom Feather start a catering business that transforms their lives. Maeve Binchy has brought us another great story filled with warmth, wit and drama. Her characters are very believable and seem like friends by the end of the book. Some make you laugh, others make you cry and you will miss them after the last chapter. Look forward to my next Binchy book. Highly recommend this one!

I love all of Maeve‘s books, but this is one of my favourites. I love her take on small town Ireland and normal, yet messed up families.

Another great book from the much missed Maeve Binchy. Very interesting to see the relationships develop, or not, over a year following Tom and Cathy setting up a catering business at the beginning of a year. There is a big group of characters in this book, some you root for, others that you do the very opposite for. So much happens through the year that leaves them reeling! Certainly recommended but set a good amount of time to read this big book.

I had a hard time getting into this book, but once I got a hang of it I enjoyed it a lot! There are many characters in the book, which makes it hard to follow at first. However, the characters are interesting, flawed, and filled with life. Once you get to know them you start rooting for or against them. Another strong achievement, Maeve! You are sorely missed!

The problem with ebooks is it is much harder to assess the pace and amount of reading.
The first section of Scarlet Feather has ended up being longer than I expected, therefore not quite got it finished tonight before I kept falling 💤 💤 💤. As a result I will be posting the first questions in the #MaeveBinchyBuddyRead of the tagged book tomorrow morning instead of tonight. Apologies
