This book would be great for the older grades. When the books start to become more informational and in depth, I think that it would be beneficial for the older grades. This would be a great book to highlight the importance of women. It can be entertaining, but also seen as controversial, so take caution while reading through it with children. It is an easy book for children to identify the characters.
Frida Kahlo by Isabel Sanchez Vegara. Published in 2015. Biography of Frida Kahlo. This book follows the life of Frida Kahlo from her as a child to the impacts she made through her paintings as an adult. It doesn‘t stray away from the hardships she went through and how she overcame them. The illustrations are vibrant like her paintings a tell a beautiful story.
Meant to post my #FabulousFebruary TBR this morning. Already finished this Little People Big Dreams book. I‘ve started most of these. Trying to slow down and focus on print and kindle books this time. Also decided to reread the BSC books since I recklessly read them out of order as a kid 😂
I love this series of books and am surprised that the Harriett Tubman story isn‘t in the Litsy database. This is a great story about the amazing Tubman. She is a figure that all children should learn about in order to better understand the travesty of slavery and the importance of equal rights for all. #nfnov.

I love this book b/c it can be used to join reading w/ history, art, & cultural diversity! This book is a simple overview of Kahlo's life & achievements. I would use this as an intro into the study of Frida, the history of Mexico, or the study of women in history

Picked these 2 board books up from the library to read to my granddaughter this weekend. One of my favorite authors and one of my favorite artists. I love this series!
Little People, Big Dreams: Frida Kahlo by Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Gwen Fan Eng is an amazing biography book that illustrates the life and colorful culture of painter, Frida Kahlo, in playful picture scenes. I loved how this book allow for fusion in lessons of culture and people in with historical art. It leaves many possibilities for a large variety of different activities such as painting projects and in-depth cultural studies
Not sure if this will change- but here‘s my Frida Khalo corner.
Beautiful cover, a book for children 💃 Frida 💚

Moving steadily through this series, and I‘m still absolutely adoring them. So sweet, so accessible, I encourage you to read any you can get your hands on.
Read if you like: “Little People, Big Dreams” series
Because of its target audience, this book glosses over the more dramatic aspects of Kahlo‘s life, while still giving a sense of what inspired her art. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am in love! This will certainly not be the last book of #littlepeoplebigdreams my goddaughter will get from her favorite auntie ;) 😍
I love the idea behind the 'little people, big dreams' series but this one feels a little too fragmented... needs more detail!
