Ship It is the story of 16-year-old Claire, a fan fiction writer from a small Midwestern town who is pulled into the world of her favorite TV show, Demon Heart, and Forest, the young man who stars in Demon Heart.
Neither of the MCs is likable and the female one is annoying!
Comic Con with an extra layer of ship... #quarentineRead #booknerd #readingIsFUNdemental through p.129
There are so many things that could still happen in this book. #loveit #booknerd #quarentineRead #readingisFundemental
I love the start of the book; just zoomed through the first 50 pages
Prompt was ships that sunk and after much consideration, I can honestly say that I tend to give a HARD PASS when one half of an #OTP dies.
I‘ll put the ones I found particularly upsetting/annoying in the comments!

I have this little stack of books related to comic con that I really want to dive into. Unfortunately I have 6 half started books that I either have to finish or bail on because I‘ve been dragging my feet like crazy on them. I also desperately need to clean and reorganize my library. 😫 Wish me luck!
Loved this!!! You cannot go wrong with a comic con/Fangirl book. And this one has LGBT representation!!!
Oh, I loved this thoughtful look at fandom, the bad of it and the very good. I (like so, so many) don't see myself in pop culture spaces, and (like so, so many) I push back on that constantly and it's fun to remake the and it's frustrating to have to do it. This book feels like that.
Morning storms have left me with no one at my summer drop-in program this afternoon..Going to enjoy the chance to re-read this while the slow period lasts, next week will probably be crazy! I think I read this last year, I remember this as a fun read with likable main characters. Better enjoy the slow period while it lasts- I‘m sure it will be busy when school is out next week!
Next up in my audiobook queue! I‘ve been meaning to read this for months.
Finished this on my cold weather-induced day off. I loved it!! Such a great setting. I thought the author nailed the fandom/fanfiction/fan convention portion of this perfectly. Additionally, I thought it had a great be-comfortable-with-yourself aspect/message that really resonated with how unsure I felt about myself in high school.
Claire gained some perspective and Forest lightened up which made the end of this book very enjoyable. I appreciated the message, and the humor, so this book is a pick for me despite how annoyed I was in the middle. Also, Rico is the best character ever and I wish I knew a dozen people just like him.
At 67% I'm wondering if Claire can get any more selfish. I really hope not because I'm pretty furious at her right now.
Has anyone else read this? I'm only a couple chapters in and I'm really enjoying the humor. But my brain keeps trying to make Smokey and Heart fit into Supernatural- despite their show not being Supernatural- and it's making my head spin. Is it just me?
The last couple YA books I read didn't thrill me so I planned to take a break but then this went on sale today. It sounds really cute so I'm going in! 🤞
Just finished this the other day! And how great is it, that i finally got around to it during pride month! This book is part of the lgbtq+ community. I feel in ways a lot like Claire.
It is about a girl named Claire, that writes fanfic about a show and it's two characters. Excited about them going to appear in a con. She bravely asks a question. Many want to know. But doesn't get a good answer.. And also questions herself
Unpopular opinion: I liked Riley 🙃 #Buffy #ya #summerreading #teachersoflitsy
I should be grading finals, but this book has been calling to me since I first heard about it. Today I found out that it's published by Freeform (home of my queer OTP) and written by a screenwriter for the CW (the network I most watch). It's like it was created just for me! #ya #teachersoflitsy #summerreading #weneeddiversebooks #shipit
Also, how awesome is this cover?! #underthedustjacket
So great! Super adorable girl/girl teen romance (with an on-the-page pansexual identified character!). I really liked how Lundin resisted the urge to make her characters 'good.' Not only does this book deal beautifully with fandom, shipping, fan fic, and geek culture (the good, bad, and ugly), it's also a thoughtful exploration of a questioning teen. You have to suspend your disbelief a bit with some plot points, but this didn't bother me at all.
Ugh, I have such mixed feelings about this book. I love books about fandom and conventions, and the romance was pretty adorable. However, the way the fan-creator conflict was ramped up really left a bad taste in my mouth, with excessive bad behaviour really just glossed over in the end. I had suspension-of-disbelief issues along the way.
I really have a soft spot for the books where the fangirl meets the object of her fangirl admiration. Brings me back to my middle-school self! This book was great-- super cute and there was a lot of growth on the parts of both POV characters.
Has anyone read this one? As a reader (ok, and sometimes writer 🤦🏼♀️) of fan fiction, this sounds fascinating.
INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE. As a huge shipper myself, I couldn‘t resist this book. It‘s sweet and contemporary, and points out hypocrisy, privilege, and gender issues in such a thoughtful and perfect romcom wrapper. This will satisfy so many reading itches!!
@hermyknee If I must pick one, I think that Percabeth from PJO/HOO by Rick Riordan is my choice for my fave YA ship! They are just so sweet & funny. Thanks for this awesome giveaway!! #ishipit #YAgiveaway
