Wedding planner Avery Crosslin may be a rising star in Houston society, but she doesn't believe in love-at least not for herself. When she meets wealthy bachelor Joe Travis and mistakes him for a wedding photographer, she has no intention of letting him sweep her off her feet. But Joe is a man who goes after what he wants, and Avery can't resist the temptation of a sexy southern charmer and a hot summer evening. After a one night stand, however, Avery is determined to keep it from happening again. A man like Joe can only mean trouble for a woman like her, and she can't afford distractions. She's been hired to plan the wedding of the year-a make-or-break event. But complications start piling up fast, putting the wedding in jeopardy, especially when shocking secrets of the bride come to light. And as Joe makes it clear that he's not going to give up easily, Avery is forced to confront the insecurities and beliefs that stem from a past she would do anything to forget. The situation reaches a breaking point, and Avery faces the toughest choice of her life. Only by putting her career on the line and risking everything-including her well-guarded heart-will she find out what matters most.

Finished this cute contemporary #romantsy. I particularly liked the fact that Wedding Planner , Avery Crosslin , is a regular sized woman who attracts the attention of wealthy photographer, Joe Travis. This is one of a series about the handsome Travis Brothers. 🔥🔥🔥

Wedding planner who missed out on her own HEA meets rich, gorgeous guy at a wedding she's organizing and mistakes him for the photographer. This is a cute book about a woman whose insecurities have ruled her personal (though interestingly not her professional) life, and about the man who pushes her to figure out what is truly important to her.

ScientistSam While not as funny as Kleypas's historical romances (though I did have one laugh-out-loud moment), this is a serious but sweet romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. #romantsy 7y
WarpedSweetness I love Kleypas's historical romance novels. I haven't read this one. 7y
ScientistSam @WarpedSweetness I hadn't read any of her contemporaries so I was really curious. 7y
WarpedSweetness @ScientistSam I've read a couple of her contemporaries and they weren't bad. But I really do prefer her historical romances more. 7y

ScientistSam @Riveted_Reader_Melissa A sack-like blouse, I think, but the description is just so creative!😜 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam I had to ask myself. How does a Viking Nanny dress different compared to a regular Viking? 😂 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam Like a Viking, but frumpier? I guess... 7y

Really enjoying this book. Not my favorite of the Travis series, but it's definitely a captivating story!

I have always enjoyed Lisa Kleypas books and this one was no exception. Loved Joe as the romantic interest in this story and how the story was more about Avery's journey of self discovery than the romance.
