1. Running around barefoot all summer. Riding bikes for hours. The Christmas I got my American Girl doll.
2. It‘s complicated. Probably a half-brother.
3. Just about a year ago.
4. I‘m at work, so this tome is my closest book. All but 3 of us just use our phones, though. None of the students know how to use a physical dictionary.

Eggs Thanks for joining in🤗🌷 6y
AlaSkaat I have a small dictionary of synonyms sitting on my study desk 😂 I could easily use my laptop when needed but... 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder I don‘t think you want to use this thing, though. It‘s HUGE!!! A nice pocket dictionary is always nice. 6y

AlaSkaat @GingerAntics Imagine being out with a friend and they asking you of a words definition and you wip out that big old thing 😂 like hold on, girl. I got ya 😂 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder I‘m not sure there is any whipping it out. I think they‘d know you had it on you. Maybe a big backpack for it. 🤣😂🤣 (edited) 6y
AlaSkaat @GingerAntics I just imagined taking this big dusty thing and slamming it on the table and it's too funny 😂 I wonder if people used to walk around with them before internet?? Just taking them out like it's normal lol 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder 🤣😂🤣 I doubt it. I think their mental@vocabularies were bigger. My grandmother was practically a dictionary herself...and yet if you asked her what a word meant, she always said “look it up.” 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder I now have this mental image of someone like Shaq or Andre the Giant whipping out this dictionary, popping on some reading glasses and giving out long, detailed definitions at will. 🤣😂🤣 6y
AlaSkaat @GingerAntics People before us were so much smarter than we are tbh 😂 Intelligence was valued back in the days and people fought to be educated. Now it's all laziness!! Ahhh 6y
AlaSkaat @GingerAntics 😂😂 I'd love to see that 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder I think it‘s just less common. I think to say everyone now is dumber is insulting to the really intelligent people we do have, but I do agree that most people don‘t care about education in general and kids certainly don‘t care (but then - at least here in the US - if you over work kids from age 3, WTF do you expect. Of course their going to be burned out just in time to start getting serious about college. 6y
AlaSkaat @GingerAntics No no. I'm not talking about all the scientists, doctors, historians, etc. There are more intelligent people now than there ever were. But it's the general knowledge. 'Everyday' intelligence you could say 😂 idk how to explain that but you can just look at the change in manners and behaviours in all kinds of people from every background 6y
AlaSkaat And true about burning kids out. Everyone expect them to grow up quick and do more than it's capable. It's stupid. Just let the kid be a kid until he has to grow up then he'll make his own choices :// 6y
GingerAntics @OleAnder I don‘t understand why they‘re making kids do these academic intense preschools here. They don‘t actually help kids in school, but they make toddlers depressed and even attempt/commit suicide. It‘s ridiculous. I don‘t know how this is a thing still. 6y
GingerAntics @oleander yeah, general intelligence is definitely way down. It‘s annoying. We can‘t even get people to write books with proper grammar. “I was going for hillbilly.” Yup, you got not reading this rubbish.” 6y

Here‘s a very #CoolOldBook for you. A very large, brick-like unabridged dictionary. I found this at the recycling center of all places and at the time thought I‘d use it to try one of those paper folding book projects, but so far I haven‘t quite brought myself to do that to it yet. I keeping thinking it originally must have lived on a huge podium table at the front of a Library somewhere in its past life, maybe🤷‍♀️

AmyG I have found some amazing books at our recycling center in the past. That‘s beautiful! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AmyG I‘m glad I‘m not the only one that adopts great books from there! 👍 7y

CrowCAH Very pretty 😍 love it!!! 7y
Gezemice So beautiful! I would kerp it as a decoration. Maybe use it as a shelf or something. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Aimeesue and @GingerAntics This is the book I picked up at the recycling center, originally to try paper folding with. 7y
GingerAntics Oh yeah, no I definitely would not fold that. 7y
Aimeesue Nooooooo! Way too pretty to fold! Also, I‘d bet the pages are pretty thin, so you‘d be folding f o. r. e. v e r ..... 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice @AmyG @Aimeesue @GingerAntics This is why I love Litsy, you not only understand why I brought it home, but why I haven‘t folded it. My family is more like, ‘why on earth did you bring that home with you.‘ And as it sits there looking pretty, for months now, it‘s become more of, ‘I thought you were going to make something with that‘. 😂. Litsy gets me! 7y
GingerAntics This is like my book nerd family!!! 7y
