This is 3 books in one. It was on my Amazon Book Wishlist before Moid from Media Death Cult hyped it. That just made me want to read it even more.

pickI'm still not entirely sure what it exactly is that i read. But i found myself trapped in this wonderfully enchanting story, which took me to a place between fairytale, sci-fi and fantasy. I can't stress enough how magical this book is, you have to read it for yourself to know.

pickChecked this out, couldn‘t complete it, returned and the hold came through. This novel features Aomame, a very interesting female assassin who kills men who harm women. It also has her childhood love, Tengo, who is another realistic man. Aomame realizes she‘s an alternate reality called IQ84 in 1984. This was an enjoyable Murakami complete with magic realism, intriguing characters, excellent storyline, and a religious cult. TW sexual abuse

I loved this; loved the writing and the characters and the dialogue and just all of it, really. Super impressed with Murakami‘s brilliance.

My first review on here, 2 years ago, and of course it was Murakami. What a heavy tome to start with! I had 2 earlier posts with images, so I don't know why I didn't have one with this- I just hadn't figured out that the pics were the thing! so-soUtterly confused at the half way point and looking for a bit more plot progression, the characters tend to have fairly redundant conversations over what may happen that dont tend to help develop their viewpoints for better or worse. Still though, a fairly intriguing read that is far from the ordinary and has the potential to develop into something exceptional of they would just get to the point a bit quicker.
So @DiruVamp lent this to me about a year ago. She is a HUGE Murakami fan, no seriously, like HUGE. The audiobook version of all three books combined is on bogo at Audible, so I got the audiobook and am going to do my first “read-along”...at least until I reach then end of book two, then I will just be listening. 😝.
I've read most but not all. Need to tackle the "unreads" this year.
