Finished on the plane ride home. It was ok in parts. An interesting profile, needed better editing.

Reading on a bus in Jordan on the way to Petra. Some days I cannot believe how fortunate I am in this amazing life.
And so it begins, travels with book
You guys, I just got my newest Slightly Foxed edition book in the mail today! I am obsessed. These books are the perfect size, shape, feel. So beautiful.
🦃 Dorothy Dunnett (always), Rosamund Picher (I‘m re-reading), Taylor Jenkins Reid (a current auto buy)
🦃 I can think of so many! Many from Harry Potter, so I guess I‘ll go with Nearly Headless Nick (although Moaning Myrtle and Luna Lovegood were right up there.)

Wishing a very Happy Thanksgiving to you, @Eggs and to all the Littens!
I‘ve loved her work since her first book and can‘t wait to read this. Loved hearing her at Newburyport Lit Fest! #nbptlitfest #boston #literaryfestival
“When you reread a classic you do not see more in the book than you did before; you see more in you than there was before.”
Oh, Anne Fadiman - you are the best. This was a fantastic portrait of her father, Clifton Fadiman (apparently very well known in his day, though I‘d never heard of him). I just like her writing so much and now want to reread my beloved Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down and finally get to her other books. And I loved that she narrated the audiobook. ❤️
The writing was beautiful but it fell a little flat to me.
Next read that I grabbed from the library yesterday.
Not too shabby, Anne Fadiman. 🍷❤️#hour12challenge #fantasticfirstlines I am really hoping to dig into this one over the next few hours...🤞 that my kids are a bit more amenable to that than they have been so far this morning! 😆
I only meant to bring a few books home from the trade show this year. #NEIBA17
i've been weirdly fascinated by clifton fadiman since seeing him in an educational film 30+ years ago and this glimpse through his daughter's eyes did not disappoint
