heeeeee do you have any books about dukes indeed @helgagrace
got up for a snack and someone took my seat--loving this first-in-a-series mystery set in 1920s Bombay!
i've been weirdly fascinated by clifton fadiman since seeing him in an educational film 30+ years ago and this glimpse through his daughter's eyes did not disappoint
adored the characters and their relationships with added bonus wisdom gained throughout 💕
read by the author, audiobook is great. i felt like i was hanging out with a friend!
@helgagrace is laughing out loud every minute so i have to make her read me bits and i guess i'm going to have to read it myself dammit
i might need someone to hold my hand.
sitting in a waiting room with an old friend of @helgagrace
it's nice when previous readers point out good stuff for you yay library books
There are twenty Phryne Fisher Mysteries and I can personally vouch for eleven of them while unreservedly recommending the entire series. In print, on audio (read by the divine Stephanie Daniel), or in the excellent television adaptations (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries), you will be charmed.
From my mom:
You know Ron Chernow would seize a lot more of the world if feeble old people had strength enough to hold his books!!! They are so frigging big and heavy!!!
