A Gen Ship, populated by clones, goes on a many centuries expedition to locate a construct far out in space. The story is told in Vignettes as the years pass. Interesting and well written novel.
🎧 The book was compared to Seveneves & Wool. Nope. Book layout & 1 location maybe? But nope.
Narration issue? Accents changed, some characters were so close in tone that I couldn‘t tell the difference, emphasis on wrong words, etc.
The treeware might be better. I liked the concept but the execution fell flat. I just really didn‘t love or hate any of the characters.
Despite the problems I had with the audiobook I did like it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️7/8

Almost a pan. This book is divided up into sections, each from a different character's point of view, that take place years apart. Usually decades apart, sometimes much more. There were good sections, but I almost bailed because I didn't like the beginning character. The last two sections were an unsatisfying ending. Only going with so-so because I did like a few parts, but I don't really recommend.
Read through second character's section last night. Made notes of thoughts so far. Did not like the first character's section, almost bailed on the book. The second section was much better. We'll see about the next one.
1. These two grumpy cats (Sadie and Sam) are unhappy that @TricksyTails is unhappy. #LetsMakeTricksySmile
2. Android!
3. I like the nuts in cookies...white chocolate macadamia nut yum yum, but those are all migraine triggers for me. So no nuts.
4. Noumenon by Marina J. Lostetter. Year 2088, humans are finally ready to go into deep space. They send clones. Not very far in, but at this point, I can't recommend.
5. No sports!

Starting this new #sciencefiction title now, with my Simon kitty in my lap. #catsoflitsy
About 2 hours into the Audio Version. So far I‘m enjoying it immensely. Love the look into potential far space travel, intrigued where the author may take it.
