Yossarian @BestOfFates The previous chapter talked about how Roosevelt's head said he wasn't running for President, but his hips said he was. So we're setting up a race between Woodrow Wilson's head and Teddy Roosevelt's hips. 8y

For anyone who isn't planning to vote in the General Election because "there's no real difference between the two candidates," in 1908 Taft and William Jennings Bryan both ran as the "heir to Teddy Roosevelt" with literally identical major planks in their party platforms. Also, this quote!

Yossarian @rachelk Not at all. It's very light and easy to read with very short sections. If you know a lot about the era already, I might say to try something more in depth. But it's definitely geared toward a random Occupy Wall Street guy who didn't realize he wasn't the first progressive. 9y

maximoffs @Yossarian I will have to add it to my list! I love history and know a decent amount but I can't stand historical biographies that read like a dense encyclopaedia article 9y
