Good book.
I only managed to read my #doublespin selection this month. I enjoyed most of this but was disappointed in the way the story wrapped up. @TheAromaofBooks

I woke up super early and made some crumpet bread while I finished my fifth #NewYearWhoDis title. It was another good ‘un with great tension, psychological depth, and lots of period detail. (Possibly a bit too much, when it came to the fashions. I love a good outfit description, but Verity can‘t move without giving one for herself, her fellow houseguests, the person with a gun trained on her…) I‘ll look for the rest of the series. #audiobaking
I‘ve been really tired after work this week, so haven‘t been doing too much reading. Finished 2 books, 1 was audio.
I started book 11 of the Dresden Files on audio. I love this world so much!
And started Star-Crossed Sisters. It was a rough start, as I was really annoyed with cousins about their aunt “tricking them” to go to Italy. Like you‘re in Italy, shut up!
#WeeklyForecast - Hopefully I‘m in the mood for sci-fi or The Other Black Girl
This was an interesting start to a series. Verity goes to an engagement party on an island because she got a suspicious letter saying her late husband might have been a traitor to the country.
Set right after WWI. Verity can‘t trust anyone but has to work with Max to solve a couple of murders.
I was not expecting the way this book ended. I‘m definitely going to read the rest of the books, mostly because I‘m interested to see where Verity goes
Although it had a slow start once it got moving it was hard to put down!! I loved all of the twists and turns and never saw the culprit coming!! A satisfying read for sure!!
It amazes me how in tune chewie is to my feelings... he knows that the past 2 days have been the hardest in my life and sticking close to me tonight 💖
So many holds have come in and I‘m drowning in audiobooks. #notreallyacomplaint #Libby #overdrive
Stopped by Kensington‘s cozy mystery mini-con in Chicago today to meet Anna Lee Huber. She‘s AMAZING, as long suspected, but met a number of other great cozy authors there too. What a fun event!
This book started out a bit slow but as the mystery unfolded it was hard to put down! I definitely didn‘t see the plot twist or the murderer in this one coming! It was a complete surprise! Definitely can‘t wait for the next one in this series to come out!

Anna Lee Huber's books always seem to make me stay up way too late in order to finish them. Going to be tired tomorrow with my first PT session followed by work, but it was worth it. Didn't see the main twist coming at all.
Why lay down on just the couch when you can lay down on a book?
Golden milk and a book is my new night time ritual.
@robinb thank you for the recc all those months ago! I‘m loving this so far! ✨
Trying to start a new book. Pepsi doesn't want me to.
I love Huber's Lady Darby books so I was more than happy to see a new series from her set just after WWI. While this "murder in a country manor" doesn't have the strongest mystery overall it still proved a good read. The characters are well drawn and there are some interesting back stories that I think will prove useful fodder for future books. Fans of the Maisie Dobbs and Bess Crawford series may want to give this one a go.
3⭐️... but tempted towards 2.5. I enjoyed all her Lady Darby books. This new series started so promising. It was a classic British murder mystery house party, the female lead has tragedy and turmoil to work through, shell shocked soldiers, murders... and then a twist straight out of The Young and the Restless. 😑 Huber is a better writer than this. It was a lazy throw in that ruined the book for me.

I enjoyed this #historicalmystery set in England after WWI. It was a love-that-cover purchase. I didn‘t read the blurb (often they have spoilers) and I thought this one was set later. The clothes say 1930s to me. Do you ever buy books based on the cover alone? #mystery #coverlove #ilovecozies
I loved this atmospheric Murder Mystery set in England on the cusp of 1920s. It‘s very well written with plenty of twists and turns. #amreading #MurderMistery #History
Author giveaways aren't always books. I won one of the giveaways during Anna Lee Huber's release day online party: a Halloween bracelet. Cute, but I'd rather have a book😊
I really enjoyed this mystery. There were some interesting twists, and I couldn't work out whodunnit 😊 Verity reminded me a bit of both Lady Mary from Downton Abbey and Phryne Fisher. She's a fascinating character, and I'll be interested to see how Huber involves her in another mystery, since it felt like a one-off, but I know it's going to be a series.
My Kindle preorder had a bit of a glitch, since I'd had to change the credit card on my Amazon account between the time I ordered and when they went to charge the card Monday night. But it's all fixed, downloaded, and I'm anxious to start this.
I loved this historical mystery! Fun & engaging, This Side of Murder takes place after WWI. Verity Kent, our heroine who was widowed in the war, is a logical and cool character. Can't wait to read more adventures with Verity! I voluntarily reviewed an eARC copy I received from the publisher via NetGalley.
A pretty decent start to a new series. I enjoyed the time period that it is set in - just after WWI. The pace is a little slow and there is too much time spent inside the main character's head as she puzzles out the clues and thinks through possibilities. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Publication date: 9/26/17.

I am so excited to read all of these arcs from #netgalley! Some established favorite series and some that will hopefully be new favorites. Currently reading the tagged book, the first in a new series, and loving it!
My first ARC and it's a good one! 💕
Don't you love when a favorite author starts a new series, and you fall in love all over again with a new cast of characters?! So glad I got the chance to read this ARC as I've been anxiously awaiting the release in September. New time period (just following WW1) rather than regency (Lady Darby), but still lots of historical detail, vivid characters and compelling mystery. If you like historical mystery, try Huber. She's great! #romantsy #osrbc
So excited to get this ARC from one of my favorite historical mystery writers! ❤️ The beginning of a new series with a wonderful new heroine...can't wait! Thanks #NetGalley! #romantsy #osrbc
An add to my #TBR pile. I love finding new a #historicalmystery. #cozymystery Release date: Sept 2017. #blameitonLitsy
