Bone to Pick
Bone to Pick | Charlaine Harris
Death comes calling on a small-town librarian whose life is passing her by. Aurora "Roe" Teagarden's fortunes change when a deceased acquaintance names her as heir to a rather substantial estate, including money, jewelry, and a house complete with a skull hidden in a window seat. Roe concludes that the elderly women has purposely left her a murder to solve. So she must identify the victim and figure out which one of her new, ordinary-seeming neighbors is a murderer-without putting herself in deadly danger.

I loved this Second Book of this Cozy Mystery series. It didn't have as much of the mystery as it did of character building for the main character, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I hope Book 3 will have more of a cozy mystery.

The second in the Aurora Teagarden mysteries did not disappoint. Aurora has inherited the estate of a friend, and with it a dark secret. Entertaining and a quick read. I‘ll continue the series to see what happens next in Aurora‘s life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 ❤️📚

There is one line in the book that seemed racist and made me uncomfortable. But maybe I‘m reading into it too much? If that happens again, I‘ll have to be done with the series.

This second book in the Aurora Teagarden mysteries was even more enjoyable than the first. Roe‘s mother gets married. A friend dies a natural death and leaves Roe what turns out to be a sizable estate, and a mystery to be solved.

This is book 2 in the Aurora Teagarden series. Roe inherits when her friend Jane dies. She inherits a house and all her savings. When cleaning Jane‘s house, she finds a skull. She hides it, dates a minister and at first doesn‘t like cats, but warms up to being a pet owner. This one was okay, not much of a mystery really.

Again quick and easy. Good story. The lifetime movies really did change the stories though

Aurora Teagarden inherits a considerable estate, but she soon discovers the inheritance includes a tangled mystery in need of unravelling. Her new home comes with a surprise: a human skull concealed inside a window seat. Was her benefactor a killer?? Ive been enjoying these Teagarden mysteries!

I‘ve read the first book in the series some time ago, so jumping straight to the second. It‘s a quick, fun read. Aurora is a smart, beautiful, and curious librarian who has a penchant for solving mysteries. Although I think the ending is rather weak, the story overall is engaging enough. So, a low ‘Pick‘. After reading this, I remember I‘ve watched a few episodes of the Hallmark series, which are all enjoyable.

Catherine_Willoughby There is a series? I read book 1 about 7 years ago 4y

I really have a bone to pick with this book.... 🙊🙊
But seriously, I hated the end so much. Until that point, it was okay and propelled me forward, so it still got the extra star, but downgraded substantially for a horrendous nosedive. Four reasons, all spoilers. See goodreads for the spoiler-filled review. 😉
⭐️⭐️

WhatThePuck I'm sorry. I left you a comment on Goodreads. 6y
Avanders @WhatThePuck oh it's so not your fault! The first was fine, and even if I had hated it, I still like exposure to all books, even ones I end up not liking 😁😘💖 (I also responded on gr) 6y

I'm really loving this series! Perfect for fall. Quick, easy, fun reads. Aurora can be a bit righteous and judgemental at times, but they were published in the 90's. 🤷🤷

WhatThePuck @Tiffy_Reads Right @rwmg I'm a series junkie so I'm glad that I have a lot of books to look forward to! 6y
tracey38 I want to read this series. I didn't really know about it til I saw the movies on Hallmark last year for the first time. 6y
WhatThePuck @tracey38 I plan to check them out soon. I'm the person that likes to read the book 1st. 😂 6y

Murder and mayhem follow librarian Aurora Teagarden wherever she goes including her book club! This is a fabulous mystery series by Charlaine Harris.
Book 9 not pictured as it's not out in paperback yet and book 10 to be released this year.

There is something soothing about books like this - it truly has the qualities of a cozy mystery. And having these on audio while I get some things done is perfect. It satisfies my craving to read, while easing my guilt at not wanting to tidy up.
This is another entry in the Aurora Teagarden series. It won't change your life, but it's nice to have books like this in your life. If you're a fan of Harris or cozy mysteries, try this out.

cathysaid I do the same thing: use an easy read on audio as a distraction while I clean. (edited) 7y

A fun little mystery to help fill the time while waiting for my other library holds to come in.

carys14 Oh and with finishing this book I met my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 73 books. Three months early!!! #blameitonlitsy 8y
Eyelit Congrats on hitting your goal so early!! 👏😃 8y
carys14 @Eyelit The crazy thing is that I actually lowered it by two books from last year since I met my challenge on one of the last days of December. I was planning on catching up on some of the Outlander which take me forever to finish. I think I have enough wiggle room now to try and knock one out. Lol 8y

Another fun and gentle mystery (the second) starring Aurora Teagarden. I liked it. Though w less than 50 pages left it dawned on me that there was still a murder to solve! Like spending time in their world and time (early 1990's).
