A Cold Day in Paradise
A Cold Day in Paradise: An Alex McKnight Novel | Steve Hamilton
6 posts | 8 read | 6 to read
When first published, A Cold Day in Paradise won both the Edgar and Shamus awards for Best First Novel, launching Steve Hamilton into the top ranks of today's crime writers. Now, see for yourself why this extraordinary novel has galvanized the literary and mystery community as no other book before it.... Other than the bullet lodged near his heart, former Detroit cop Alex McKnight thought he had put the nightmare of his partner's death and his own near-fatal injury behind him. After all, the man convicted of the crimes has been locked away for years. But in the small town of Paradise, Michigan, where McKnight has traded his badge for a cabin in the woods, a murderer with the same unmistakable trademarks appears to be back. McKnight can't understand who else would know the intimate details of the old murders. And it seems like it'll be a frozen day in Hell before McKnight can unravel truth from deception in a town that's anything but Paradise.

Jess_Read_This @sarahbarnes @Liz_M 😂 Echoing these sentiments. I hope you try Bell‘s or another Michigan brewer. Then you can compare (for research purposes of course) and report back your findings on American beers. Looks like you‘ve got a lovely camping spot. Hope you are enjoying your vacation! 5mo

Pickpick

I‘ve vowed that every day of my vacation I‘ll get creative for a bit of the time. My idea of fun is to create elaborate graphs with challenges. Thank you #popsugar2018 for the inspiration. A little late getting started, but...

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is my favorite place. As a child, my family rented a cottage there for a few weeks every summer, and I so loved it. One of my favorite places is Paradise, and that is the setting for Steve Hamilton's Alex McKnight mystery series. As a kid, going to the "root beer falls" was always a treat. Tahquamenon Falls is beautiful. #17booklove #belovedlocation

TirzahPrice I have great childhood memories of spending time in the UP, too! 8y

Suzze @Wife The main character lives in Paradise, and, in most books, the action takes place in that area. There are ten books in the series. He has started a new series, hoping he won't give up on this one. 8y
