Wow. Loved this twisted story. The writing is poetical and entrancing, drawing the reader back to it's pages and leaving a long-lasting impression. The author intertwines four stories that become one. "What if YOU were the worst thing your mother ever did?" reads the back flap, and it's revelation is to die for. Brilliant plot and realistic characters. The stories within this story tug at your heart, and when the book is over it leaves a feeling?
There are two kinds of storytellers--the ones who tell good stories and the ones who tell great lies

#TBRtemptation post 2! This is the tale of a young woman searching for her past, & her mother who keeps it hidden. Dahlia's childhood was shifty, nomadic, unanchored. When grown, she wants to distance herself from that. But she has questions, and her eccentric mother is the only one with answers. When Dahlia visits her in TX, she discovers the story behind 3 grave-like mounds on an adjacent farm--the world shifts again. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
🌟I miss reading, I've been in such a slump this year. I really loved Remember Mia by #alexandraburt so hopefully I'll enjoy #thegooddaughter as well whenever I get to it!🌟
Dahlia's childhood memories consist of stuffy cars, motels, and traveling the country with her eccentric mother.
Now grown, she desperately wants to distance herself from that life. But she has questions. In order to understand her past, Dahlia must go back to the stifling town of Aurora, Texas. But after she discovers three grave mounds on a neighboring farm, shell learn that not all questions are meant to be answered...
#TBR 😱📚
What would you do for your heart's desire? How far would you go to keep it safe? Dahlia needs to understand her childhood- the constant moves and not having the "right paperwork".
The story she finally gets is breathtaking. A young woman raped, married to an older man. All she wants is a child.. and she gets one. But at what cost?
I loved this story, with it's secrets and intriguing characters. Pacing issues though. 3.5☆
On page 118. Riveting so far. Get to see life through 4 POVS. Dahlia had an odd childhood. She remembers moving, driving a lot. Having no name. Homeschool, never played with other kids. Mother was secretive. Running from something? You also see things through a girl named Quinn, the town "witch" and Dahlia' s mom. Loving this so far.
Lots of blue books in my mailbox! Next is a psychological thriller in which a young woman begins to wonder if her mother has a bad, bad past. Not out until February. @BerkleyPub
