Can I just say I love the first person POV for this comic? It just works for the inner monologue that is Kate Bishop, and it had me laughing.
The art style and writing is almost as good as when I read Clint's series, which I also enjoyed. The guest appearance of Jessica Jones was a surprise and a treat.
After having to bail on The Extraordinaries by TJ Klune (wasn't holding my attention) I turned to the other superhero fare in my #staycationstack and devoured this series about Kate Bishop! Idk what they'll do with her in the movies but I hope she's characterized like this, these were a lot of fun.
My husband accidentally taught the pup this couch maneuver and now it's her favorite place to be for maximum sunbathing/neighborhood watching 😆
A very good take on Hawkeye. Great art - sunny but noir-influenced and pulling from the physicality of David Aja‘s iconic Hawkeye run - combined with a pulpy hook playing up Kate as a PI. There are some growing pains in the plotting, but this is a very strong first volume.
Oh Kate, how I love thee. Like really really love thee.
And another #friyayintro , these are so adorable @howjessreads !!
1. To make a dent in my bookshelf, plus the challenges I took up like Reading Women and Booked2019!
2. Usually it includes a variety of Greek food like spanikopita and Patsitsio and the New Year‘s cake: Vasilopita!
3. Kate Bishop aka Hawkeye, waiting for her to enter MCU one day!
4. December
5. ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻 high five January babies, best of birthday wishes! ❤️💜❤️💜
This was so entertaining. Kate Bishop is totally relatable, and is such a badass. Put Kate in the movies!
I loved this recent Marvel Puzzle Quest splash screen. Awesome women + Pizza Dog!
1. Hawkeye. The Kate one, not the Clint one. Squirrel Girl, Storm, and Rogue are all closely tied for second.
2. YOTSUBA&! by Kiyohiko Azuma.
3. Both.
4. Neither: tobogganing.
#fridayfrigesday @SpeculativeFemale
I needed something cheerful today because it's frickin snowing out, so I festooned my gallery wall with Christmas lights. Kate Bishop's looking pretty festive.
The third book I finished on my mini vacation to Montreal was the new trade of the Kate Bishop Hawkeye series and I really enjoyed it. I had picked up the first issue a while back and enjoyed it and the series has definitely lived up to that issue. This was my first introduction to Kate Bishop and I can't wait to read more.
Excited about this collection of epic ladies and new book haul. And how stunning is the cover of The Seafarer's Kiss? That was my first #blameitonlitsy purchase and I have zero regrets
I love Kate Bishop, so I'm glad she got her own series. She definitely deserves one. This is a really fun read, especially for the summer since it takes place in sunny L.A.
🏹🏹🏹🏹/5 (4/5)
Taking a break from the Dark Tower to read a little graphic novels and magazines. Starting with this one. I love Kate Bishop and am glad to see her get her own series.
Kate Bishop is the light of my heart and the breath in my lungs, and her solo series debut was everything I hoped it'd be. Thompson writes her perfectly, Romero calls back to Aja and Wu's interpretations while adding his own style to the character, and Bellaire's colours capture Kate's personality and that Cali vibe. The whole thing comes together so damned well.
This is the variant cover of my heart, too. Because, boomerangs.
It seems Marvel's recent trade releases include everything the single issues do: original covers with logos and price tags intact, next issue teasers, and letters pages.
On the one hand, this feels like lazy trade editing. On the other, letter pages are the only thing I prefer about single issues so I'm happy for the editors to laze away if it lets me read 'em without busting my budget.
I redid my Kate Bishop frame job. Sho Murase's gorgeous variant cover for ALL-NEW HAWKEYE #1 is back in its old position between my floating bookshelves, while HAWKEYE #2 takes pride of place here.
I'm mad at myself, though; I dripped on Kate's face after I washed my hair this morning! Luckily the distortion isn't too noticeable now the cover's sandwiched between two pieces of glass.
I want to enjoy my Kate Bishop covers on a regular basis, not just whenever I pull them out of a long box, so I framed the comics and put the results on my gallery wall.
I love that my print copy of HAWKEYE #1 came with a download code for the digital edition. This makes me more likely to buy physical single issues in the future instead of waiting for digital sales like I usually do.
Gonna catch up with my girl Kate Bishop (light of my heart, breath in my lungs).
Classic Kate Bishop sass!

A recent add to my monthly comic pick up. I am loving it so far and Kate's sass is right up my alley. #comics #graphicnovel #comiclover
