C. J. Sansom is one of my favourite authors. I have Dominion but haven't read it yet. I like to ration out my favourites.

Most of the way through, I was fascinated with this thriller/alternate history. Britain is closely allied with the Nazi regime. Civil servant David joins the Resistance & winds up helping to spirit an old schoolfriend with dangerous knowledge away from those seeking his secrets as the Gestapo and British Special Branch chase them. But the end lost my interest when too much was made of every woman loving David for no discernible reason...
This was my first alternative history novel and it was really good. It's 1940 and the British have surrendered to Germany, fast forward eleven years, what does the world look like under German rule? Is the resistance still going or are people accepting new the regime? Such a interesting topic, would make an excellent book club book. It's a brick of a book at six hundred pages but it was worth reading for sure.
I love all eras, past, present, future real or imagined.

Picnic supper tonight, this book is what I think is speculative fiction #itshistory turned on it's head. What if the Allies lost and the Axis won. It makes you #think about what a fascist world would be like. Too scary- I haven't been able to finish this book #augustgirrrls #anditsaugust
My wonderful book haul for Christmas!! Yay husband!!! Our family opens gifts on Christmas Eve and we had a lovely evening. Merry Christmas Litsy!! 🌲🎁🌲🎉
Like all of C J Sansom's book it is evocative, clever and thought provoking. Although it's a book built on a 'what if' it felt totally real. The sense of oppression and fear are palpable, the characters flawed and engaging. Can't recommend this book enough.
