Neon Soul | Alexandra Elle
19 posts | 16 read | 17 to read
In short, powerful verses, Alexandra Elle shares a hard-won message of hope. Alexandra Elle writes frankly about her experience as a young, single mother while she celebrates her triumph over adversity and promotes resilience and self-care in her readers. This book of all-new poems from the beloved author of Words From A Wanderer and Love In My Language is a quotable complement to her beautiful blog and Instagram account.

I read this Aug 3-5 and gave it 3 ⭐️. This felt more like a collection of self affirmations than it did a collection of poems. It wasn‘t bad but I didn‘t really connect with the book of the poems.

Throughly enjoyed this poetry book. Nourishing, warm words. The title is suitably named as you can feel the neon glowing through the pages. This collection is full of life and self-love!

#TBRtemptation post 8! In this poetry collection, Elle relates her experience as a young single mom who celebrates triumphing over adversity and promoting residence and self-care. This collection is considered a quotable companion on the road to healing toward wholeness and health. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

I got off work at the bookstore and was waiting for my hubby to get off work to go shopping, so of course I read some poetry! This collection was a little different from most you'll find, bc it was all about self-love and being content and knowing you are valuable just bc you're you. The poems pictured were some of my favorites.

Too pretentious for my taste.

BookishMarginalia Yeah, no. That reads like bad poetry by high school students (makes my teacher soul shudder!). 8y

This collection is a celebration of resilience and self love. The poetry is simple and easy to read in one sitting, but not the type to be analyzed. The collection reminded me of the poems about healing in Rupi Kaur‘s Milk and Honey, but I found it less hard-hitting than Kaur's collection. #NetGalley #ARC #poetry Full review: https://bookandstitch.wordpress.com/2017/04/02/neon-soul-by-alexandra-elle/

I loved the overall message presented in this collection of poetry; however, I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of this style. Enjoyable and emotive, but not something that I think will stay with me long after reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

absolutely loved this collection of poetry, there were so many poems I screenshotted to read again later & will definitely be picking up more of her work in the future. many of these poems might look simple but they speak to many larger issues - Alexandra Elle is praised for "her triumph over adverse & promoting resilience & self-care - & this collection definitely delivers
?????

Erin01 also, it's not out till March 21 but it is available on NetGalley as a read now if this sounds like something you may enjoy 8y
saresmoore It's going straight to the wishlist! Thanks for sharing about this one. 8y

I really enjoyed this poetry collection and its focus on healing, self love, and self care. It was easy to read, definitely not poetry to chew on and ponder but that made it enjoyable. I read this cover to cover in one sitting and would definitely re-read it. This is one to pass on to others who you care about. I will be recommending it to a group I am a part of that focuses on self care.
