Lovely fantasy reworking of the last days of the Romanovs. I don't see a happy ending coming... And yes, irritatingly, this is not the full story -- the rest is coming in a second novella. Kinda wish I'd realised that first, to read them together.

Inspired by the Russian Revolution and the fall of the Romanovs, this historical fantasy tells the story of the five daughters of the #moon. There are love, deceit, a coup and some kind of soul-magic.
I liked the story, but it should have been longer. The ending felt more like a chapter ending, than the ending of a book. The pacing was a bit off, and I could have used a bit more world building. Maybe in the sequel?

Rewarding myself with reading, coffee and cake, since I have finished shopping for my #FallBookExchange match! 👏👏 no I just need to wrap it and get it sent off.

Soooo, I might have gone a bit crazy and bought a lot of novellas/short books from Tor.com. 📚📚
@aeeklund and @elkeo I blame this on you entirely. And maybe a bit on my lack of self-control. But only a little bit... 😂

Rock those headphones princess (couldn't get the headphones to fit her head alas).
So far I'm loving the imagery this book evokes. All these references of the moon and royal families makes me think of Sailor Moon 🌙 #diversebookbloggers #scifi #fantasy
