From the bestselling author of The Girls of Mischief Bay and The Friends We Keep comes a twisty tale of family dynamics that explores what can go terribly, hysterically wrong when the line between friendship and family blurs Zoe Saldivar is more than just singleshe's ALONE. She recently broke up with her longtime boyfriend, she works from home and her best friend Jen is so obsessed with her baby that she has practically abandoned their friendship. The day Zoe accidentally traps herself in her attic with her hungry-looking cat, she realizes that it's up to her to stop living in isolation. Her seemingly empty life takes a sudden turn for the complicatedher first new friend is Jen's widowed mom, Pam. The only guy to give her butterflies in a very long time is Jen's brother. And meanwhile, Pam is being very deliberately seduced by Zoe's own smooth-as-tequila father. Pam's flustered, Jen's annoyed and Zoe is beginning to think "alone" doesn't sound so bad, after all. Friendship isn't just one thingit's a million little things, and no one writes them with more heart and humor than book club sensation Susan Mallery!

I love Susan Mallery books, but one character named Jen was a bit too winey for my taste

Gonna start this. Let‘s see if it is any good. I hate DNFing books and I‘ve done like two already in the past few weeks. -.-

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and personally found myself discovering many parallels between a couple of the characters lives and my own at this particular time which I found very interesting!
This is the third book in what is currently a four book series, fourth book is now on hold at the library 😁 I can't wait to find out what happens next! #loveseries

I've been trying to get thru this for almost 2 weeks. I've been binge watching Gilmore Girls so reading has taken a seat in tje back of the bus. Sadly I've finished the series so its back to reading. #readingslump

monkeygirlsmama I've been thinking of picking this one up from the library. 8y
Bostonmomx2 @monkeygirlsmama its good, not earth shattering or life changing bit good. Of you like this author, you'll enjoy it 😊 8y
monkeygirlsmama @Bostonmomx2 I've only ever read, to my knowledge, on other book by her, but I did really enjoy it. I'm sure I will check this one out one of these days, but first I need to get through my #NetgalleyReads pile first. 8y

Bostonmomx2 @monkeygirlsmama its part of a series but can easily be read as a standalone 8y
monkeygirlsmama @Bostonmomx2 Good to know. Thanks! Her other one I read was part of a series too, but it also held up alright by itself. 8y

Starting this one today. Between my Netflix binging and my reading slump, not much reading is getting done at all lately. Hoping this one pulls me in.

#3 in the Mischief Bay series. It follows Pam, who we've met in a previous book, Her daughter Jen and Jen's friend Zoe. Each one is going through changes in life and they get through it with the help of each other.

Love Susan Mallery's books! Can't wait for more!

Had a busy day and felt like some ice cream while I read. Almost done with this one! Couldn't wait to get home so I could keep reading.

Yellowpigeon Magnum is my favorite. Took bad we can't get all the flavors here😢 (edited) 8y

This came in for me today. I've been looking forward to reading it so this might break my slump.

sammisho Have you read her Fools Gold series? 8y
EmilyChristine @sammisho Yes! And I'm really excited about her Happily Inc series that's branching off from it. 8y
sammisho @EmilyChristine I hadn't heard about that!!! I was so sad when Fool's Gold ended. Tbh, I haven't liked anything else by her. 8y

EmilyChristine @sammisho I think I've read all her books, but I've really enjoyed Fools Gold. Have you read any books by Robyn Carr? I like her too. 8y
sammisho @EmilyChristine I haven't but I have been recommended her lots. What should I start with? Have you read Jill Shalvis? Or Samantha Young? 8y
EmilyChristine @sammisho I love Jill Shalvis. I haven't read Samantha Young, what do you recommend? For Robyn Carr I'd start with her Virgin River series. I also love Kristan Higgins. 8y
EmilyChristine @sammisho Great! I'll try that one. 😁 8y
