I don‘t know if I would call this a satisfying conclusion to this series. It‘s definitely bittersweet, but I‘m just glad I got to hang out with these characters again. I‘m so bummed this series is over 😭

I was a little sceptical about this one, with Sigrud as the lead protagonist. A character characterised in the previous two books as a man of action and few words, I wondered how he could provide compelling dialogue to match his action. However, I was wrong. This book left me thinking the strong, scary, looming dreyling was more a persona that served his and Shara's ends well and this was a brilliant way to end the trilogy.

I really enjoyed most of this book. The story was thrilling, and Sigrud makes for a really good pov character. I'm a little sad at the ending, I didn't think that it was going to go that way. There was also a little snippet in the last 10 pages that kind of left a bad taste in my mouth and just took away from my enjoyment of the book (it's a little segment about consent and trauma for women, and didn't need to be there/came out of nowhere).

I love this series so much - and this rings so very true for our current world. RJB is a goldang genius.

A beautiful, bittersweet ending to a fantastic trilogy.

This series is a mix of politics, mystery, and fantasy. Filled with action scenes and full characters, I would recommend this trilogy to everyone!

Very good end to a very very good fantasy trilogy, set in a world where the gods have recently disappeared (well, *mostly* disappeared), leaving imbalances of power that some hope to remedy and others to exploit. This one opens by killing off a major character, moves a secondary character to the lead role, pits him against an effectively menacing villain, and ends the series with a satisfying bang. Now to grab Foundryside while it's still new ...

Forgot to post this review! I don‘t read a lot of fantasy, but this series is my absolute favorite. A bold claim, I know, but the characters and world building are simply superb. This was a perfect, bittersweet end to the series. All three books in the trilogy have been 5-star reads!

I love these books by Bennett so much. I‘m trying to savor it since it‘s the last of the trilogy but it‘s just SO GOOD I can‘t put it down.

This series is so hauntingly beautiful. The ending both irretrievably sad en hopeful.

All I can say is I am a blubbering mess. The best trilogy I have ever read.

Speed reading through this one today. Its just so gripping. I just dont want this series to be over 😣

Bennett really stuck the landing with this one—it was about as perfect an ending to the series as I could have hoped for. As with the other two, the story is propulsive & well-paced, the world richly imagined, but what I love most is how well thought-through the consequences of everything is, both on the characters and the world. There's a heaviness to the protagonist, Sigrud, that resonated with me, but there was an essential hopefulness, too.

*sighs* Still, despite all that, this is the best way Bennett could've closed out this series. I am so glad it ended this way, despite how much it hurts me.

Not to say you SHOULDN'T protest injustice, but remember it's also okay to stop sometimes to take care of yourself before going back into the fray.

LAST BOOK IN THE SERIES OMG. And boy, what a series it is! I'm currently in a reading slump at the moment (which isn't helped by the fact that I recently got a PS4 and am now playing Horizon: Zero Dawn), but I do try to get my reading in as much as I can. Will City of Miracles get me to stick around despite the charms of Horizon: Zero Dawn? Knowing the quality of Bennett's writing, that's entirely possible ;D.

So sad this series has ended! Strong female characters, strong world building, and complex and unexpected stories have made all three books in the series a pleasure to read.

This arrived today!! I was so lucky to win an ARC from Goodreads. I read the first book in this trilogy on my honeymoon, so it's tied to lots of warm fuzzy memories in addition to being a great read. The second book did not disappoint, and now a sneak peek at the third! Dropping everything, this series is just too great to delay!

This was such a good book. I was lucky enough to win an advance copy from the publisher. This is a very satisfying conclusion to the Divine Cities trilogy, especially if you're a fan of Sigrud (and who isn't?).

It follows Sigrud across much of the world, including many places we've seen in the first two books, as well as several new locales. It all builds to a stunning conclusion that is bigger than anything in the first books.

I was lucky enough to win a contest recently that included the first two books of this series as well as an advance copy of the latest book, which doesn't come out until May! I'm so excited to have this so early!
