17/52 -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I absolutely love this book! I read most of it a few years ago and I reread it this past week or so. I posted many direct quotes from the book because I found them all so powerful. If it is your goal to be well read and you need some affirmation and ideas about it, I highly recommend you read this book. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Happy reading!

Becker I love books like this. I just put this one on my TBR. Thanks for posting. 7y

The Great Books Foundation is awesome. As a teacher, I taught using Junior Great Books. As a Supervisor, I purchase the materials and provide training in shared inquiry using Junior Great Books!!! Awesome!!!!

Alfoster Yes, agreed! Loved teaching them! Great discussions!😍 7y

I write and highlight in non-fiction books, but rarely fiction! Are you a Footprint Leaver or a Preservationist????

OrangeMooseReads I‘ll mark things occasionally both in fiction and nonfiction. If I‘m reading something for research or additional learning I mark them like crazy 7y
SaturnDoo 😲😢I never mark up books. I won't read or use a book that is written in either. In college, although expensive, I only bought new books.I get distracted by the writing/markings. I keep post it notes, a notebook and pen in reach. 😁 7y
xicanti I'm a devout Footprint Leaver. Books are meant to be read and considered, and I want them to look like they've served their purpose. 7y

Knightingale I take notes and write in the margins of everything. Even magazines. The only time I read without a writing implement is when I‘m reading graphic novels. Because it seems to add to text but would detract from the comic. 7y
annamatopoetry Oh god, ABSOLUTELY a footprint maker. Have got in fights about it. 7y

Every word of this book is on point. Book ownership is critical, especially for children developing the habits to become life long readers!!!!

There are so many great quotes, I can‘t share them all: however I ❤️❤️❤️ how he suggests making a list of candidates NOT a reading list. So, adding a book to you Litsy Stack is simple listing it as a candidate. He also shares ideas about writing your “Bookography”. I am glad I decided to reread this one.

Suelizbeth Books about books. 😻😻📚❤️ 7y
Tjackson @Suelizbeth He references 3 more books about books, too!!! 7y
Suelizbeth @Tjackson Definitely a must order! 7y
Jinjer I need all the books about books! 7y
Tjackson @Jinjer How to Read and Why by Harold Bloom is referenced a few times. I think I want it. 7y

“No one can be well-read using someone else‘s reading list.” Great point!!!!!

tif YESSSSS! Why I don't care about 1001 books to read before you die and similar lists 7y

I read most of this book a few years ago, but I decided I needed to re-read it. The entire introduction is wonderful, but the underlined passage makes me 😀😀😀😀😀.

Who knew when I joined back in March I was going to find such a wonderful community. I feel like I've made new friends & love coming here where people are just as passionate as I am about reading! I usually get eye rolls & made fun of for loving all things books & reading. Littens, you've truly been a bright spot in my year! Thanks for helping me hit 10000! 🤓📚👍

Cozy weekend reading from my Book Advent Calendar. I'm a little but behind from Days 1&2 so I'm taking today to catch up. A good mixture to start off with!

Blueberry I have The Little Guide to Your Well-read Life. I read it mostly through a long airplane trip. Easy-to-absorb comfort-read. 8y
