I was grabbed by this cover at the library and not disappointed! These essays of marvelous, luscious prose cover wide-ranging topics, including elephants, insects, abortion, literary criticism, cancer, and bits of memoir. The writing style demands a slow read, but this is very much worth the time. Highly recommend.
Here's my #JanuaryTBR for the first part of January. I'm actually more than halfway through Violation, a marvelous book of essays, but it's slow reading (you have to savor every word) and I'm in the mood for a page-turner, so I'm going to dive into the Gentry. And of course I've already blown apart my LitsyAtoZ list. 😂 #readjanuary
I posted the first part of my year in reading round-up here: https://ofbooksandbikes.com/2017/01/01/2016-in-reading-part-1/
Because there's always room in a Litten's TBR: a great Book Riot article about the overlooked gems of 2016. Great list! http://bookriot.com/2016/12/20/favorite-radar-books-published-2016?utm_source=Sa...
Settling in for some Sunday reading with a dog on my lap and a book in my hand.
#recommendsday? Okay! This one is awesome. Essays FTW.
