My teen years were spent devouring Fear Street books and R.L. Stine is a big reason I love horror.

This book is not the best example of why I love Stine's writing, though. The story was mediocre and felt forced. There were a few semi-scary moments, but not enough to save this one.

This was just terrible. Everyone in this book were so superficial and so annoying. I get that it‘s a “retelling”, but get a clue, the guy doesn‘t like you!! I‘ll stick with the classic RL Stine books from now on!

I haven't read RL Stine in a long while. This was a fun terrifying read with potions and magic included. As a bonus, it officially got me #Bingo and #TeamTheme points.

Book 74🎧
It was okay! A bunch of kids remake a horror movie gone wrong. The “twist” was a little weak for me but still a fun listen. I could see Netflix taking a swing at it📽

Yup, this was just about as cheesy as I thought it was gunna be. The tie-ins to Shakespeare‘s play were appreciated and well planned out, but there are a lot of cliques to overlook to get there.

Magic potions, love squares, and a movie (instead of a play) within a book galore, but ohh boy. Lots of senseless characters and campy deaths 🧪 ☠️ 🔪

It you look at this as a 80‘s slasher, it fits the bill but lol are these characters vapid. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Counting it for theme as the villain is definitely not human.

Oh, what fools these actors be!

It was a horror movie that turned into real horror--three young actors lost their lives while the camera rolled. Production stopped, and people claimed that the movie was cursed.

Sixty years later, new actors are venturing onto the haunted set. In a desperate attempt to revive their failing studio, Claire's dad has green-lit a remake of Mayhem Manor & Claire and her friends are dying to be involved. #TeamSlaughter

Clwojick +2 for theme, 1 for participation ♥️ 5y

Had to run my Jeep in to have a recall fixed. Audiobooked it there and back with R. L. Stine's A Midsummer Night's Scream. Now I'm home again and back to Georgia. Also, my coffee has a little reminder for everyone. #Deweys24HourReadathon #DFTBA #RATbookdrink #readathon
