Here are just some of the things I enjoy about Fall time.
Aesthetic: dark, Spooky, romantic, but also with a touch of color (Think of día de los Muertos)

My final #summerfunbucketlist entry to close out the first half : #mycollection. I have a couple more skulls around the apartment and a painting in storage, but this is my modest Dia de los Muertos shadow box collection. I picked these up on visits to San Antinio & Tempe, so not authentic since I haven't been to Mexico but something I only get in that region. I love these things & find the holiday beautiful. @StayCurious @4thhouseontheleft
Maybe it‘s the family historian in me, but I‘ve always wished my culture celebrated this holiday. Great explanation of the holiday. I love the illustrations! Bonus: this book made me look up chocolate atole (hot chocolate) recipes & I‘m going to make that when the weather changes. This would have been right up my alley when my kids were little.

The NF picture book, Día De Los Muertos, immerses students in the heat of Latin American culture celebrating the lives of departed family and friends. This book would be useful in a DR as students experience a Mexican background..decorating sugar skulls, cooking tamales, and more. #UCFLAE3414F19
I‘m drinking hot bean water also known as coffee also known as what sustains me. Out of a cup my best friend brought to me after her last trip home to mexico! I‘m teaching middle school today and then closing at the library so it‘s gonna be a long exhausting day! #mondaymorningbeverage
This is our first year with an ofrenda in our home celebrating Día de los Muertos. The celebration happens to be the same week as the anniversary of my grandma‘s passing, so I think that‘s also helpful for my kids who remember and miss her.
This book offers a concise look at this joyful celebration of life.

#throwback to the Dia de los Muertos I spent in Mexico City. This is the first Ofrenda I help build.
