A fascinating & inspiring woman ahead of her time. From a poor & abusive childhood to the first female stockbroker to leading in the women's suffrage movement & running for President of the U.S. in 1872. Brought to vibrant life by the author, sometimes leaning to melodramatic & awkward dialogue, but overall an absorbing piece of historical fiction about a woman we all should know more about. #Readathon #DeweysReadathon Hour 16 Update: Dinner consumed and back to the same chairs we started in at 2AM this morning--but my reading buddy is awake this time! Finished this one (Book 3) but won't review it until Monday on the blog. Feeling pretty awake so I think I'll finish Stiff next and save my started Kindle thriller for when I need some suspense to push me through tonight. 😴😱 How's everyone doing out there?!
#readathon #deweysreadathon Hour 9 Update: Started book 3, a mystery/thriller on my Kindle & got about 15% in, but switched to Book 4--historical fiction about Victoria Woodhull, the 1st women to run for President in 1872, because I review it for book tour on Monday & figured I should read the 400-ish pages while my energy level is up. Noshing on carbs (leftover Mexican rice) for snack/early lunch (it's 11AM here). How are you holding up? 👍😀
Max has no firm opinion over which of these books should be our reading material for tonight, he's just posing. Stiff goes back to the library next week & I'm reviewing Madame Presidentess on Monday. Maybe a little of each? #TBRTuesdays #tbr #catsoflitsy
