My 5th grade teacher was big into science fiction & read us this #Mountains titled book & I became obsessed with the series. I reread them as an adult several years ago.🗻🩶🏔️

I‘ve chosen the White Mountains for the classic Tripods Trilogy
If you‘ve not been tagged already can you post a picture of a book with mountains on the cover @GHABI4ROSES @gradcat @Crazeedi @SquidgetsRoom @EadieB
Thanks for the tag @Eggs
#GetMovin #HigherGround These six books from my 'read' stack are are all set in or around higher ground--the mountains in New Mexico, in Colorado, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Swiss Alps, the Adirondacks, and in the case of the tagged book--post-apocalyptic England.

A) The White Mountains (and the whole original Tripod Trilogy)
B) Yes, I inherited (we are renting) a house with a large & beautiful garden/orchard. 4 large mature apple trees, a pear, a plum and a cherry tree, grapes and blackberries, plus loads of flower buds that are a surprise and a delight as we watch them spring for our first viewing. Also I‘m trying my hand at vegetables for the first time in 30 years. 😱

I‘m so excited to start my “after sleep” section of the #24in48readathon on one of Clark‘s favorite childhood books. And away we go! #postmeditation

This short middle grade novel is the book I credit with my love of Science Fiction. It has everything. A plucky protagonist who knows there‘s something not right about the world, action, fighting for what‘s right.
It‘s time for my son to read them, but I can‘t find my copies! I wonder if I lent them to someone and never got them back? Or maybe they are somewhere I‘m not remembering.
I did enjoy the book but I think it might only be geared to a very specific type of person. I enjoyed the questions and mystery surrounded by the tripods but it was overall a very slow read even with only 200ish pages!
I read this book *I think* in junior high... and *I think* I liked it. We shall find out! 🤔
Read these in 6th grade for various book projects. Some of my first ventures into nonfiction and science-fiction.

I've read a lot of books in my lifetime and have trouble remembering them all but this series is one of my most memorable middle school favourites. I wasn't a big scifi fan but I was completely hooked on this series when it was introduced to me by one of my teachers. I liked these books so much that I reread them. Over and over and over again. I even reread the first as an adult and, yep, still loved it! #funfridayphoto
