pickThis book tells the story of airmen who ended up in German-occupied Yugoslavia in WWII and the rescue mission that recovered them. It‘s so good! The storytelling is cinematic in the best way, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Major kudos to the Serb villagers who risked their lives to hide all those men from the Nazis.
I'm super proud of my Serbian heritage, & this is a fascinating account of Serbs' efforts to rescue & conceal downed US airman in WWII.
pickThis was a very interesting book. It tells the story of (primarily) American airmen recovered by Serb civilians. They then had to be recovered in a very dangerous rescue mission. There is a lot of information on the conflict between partisans and Chetniks. This was eye opening and something I was not aware of, in particular the outrageous treatment of Draza Mihailovic.

1) very interesting. About Tito and Stalin and that side of the war. Good author
2) this was good. He was a nutter though. Only planned for one way of the journey.
3) these are proper bloody nutters. They‘re surfers. Only work for a few months and then go surfing and live in the rough. Their girlfriends too, had to sleep in the rain. The facts about the different places was good. Don‘t need to finish it.
