I mostly liked this. It‘s sort of dark yet encouraging, but I felt like there were more questions than answers. I like books like that to some degree, but I felt like this one just needed a little more closure.

17 year old Seth drowns at sea off Washington State and wakes up in a deserted, post-apocalyptic version of the English town where he lived until he was nine. Is this Hell?
Some pacing problems particularly in the early part before Regine and Tomasz appear, but still an enjoyable and thought-provoking story.

Even though I have not read to far into the book yet, it has been really eye catching and entertaining. For a person who does not like reading this was a good book. It has lots of scene description and action. The overall theme of after life is also very interesting. The only problem with this book is that it‘s very long. If you enjoy long books, this is a book for you.
If you like books that will have you hooked from the start to the beginning and always introduce something new or something to add more suspense to the plot this book is just for you. Even though I didn't quite finish the book I made it about a quarter way through it. So far a kid drowned and wakes up in a different world that he thinks is his own personal hell. He has flashbacks of memories that haunted him his whole life.
A dark and beautiful story of truth versus reality. And how to explore the difference. A ya novel set in a matrix world where three people get caught in the real world versus the world of their parents making. I really enjoyed this plot and though the ending is vague it was such a good book about love, loss and yearning for more.
Thanks @magyklyXdelish for the tag.

1. I miss browsing bookstores & also browsing TJ Maxx. I don‘t need more books 😂 but damn if my bra isn‘t screaming to be relieved from duty & replaced with a fresh find from the Max‘s sweet “lingerie” department 😬😧🤣.
2. I‘ve read 20 books during isolation, so my reading increased! I finished my 2020 Goodreads goal of 25 books!
I‘ll try tagging @catiewithac & @Meaw_catlady
Do I want this? he thinks.
Do I still want this?
And he realizes that he doesn‘t really know for sure.

Here is the doorway.

I just finished reading this book.
Exciting and maybe just slightly bewildering, but always gripping and never boring. I was attached to this book from the beginning of this reading journey to the end. I was conflicted by the ending, but haven‘t stopped thinking about it since I put it down. That‘s a good thing, right?
I get a lot of reading done on long journeys - very glad I don't get car-sick!
Finished this one today. It was good but hard to discuss without massive spoilers. Unique and hopeful though.
In trying to consume more queer media in June, I do kind of wish there was a place listing all queer media and whether or not the characters survive. So many focus on the tragic queer narrative and I can‘t help but wonder how we‘re meant to envision our futures, to say nothing of the rest of the world.

Currently reading, because the library really wants it back already.

I may not be able to take an appropriately aligned book photo, but I‘d like to think that doesn‘t translate to my gallery wall. If anyone has a level I can borrow to check the alignments of these, hit me up 😂 #12daysofbookstagram — more than books
I haven‘t a clue where this story is going or what‘s actually going on, but the writing is certainly quotable. And much of what is happening in the story works on two levels, literal and metaphorical, me gusta.
Hey guys, It‘s been a bit 😞😢in my life lately.. but I‘m back with another post, as life goes on. More Than This by Patrick Ness is such a great book! It you guys dig the matrix, you‘ll love it. It‘s got super sci fi/dystopia feels, full of incredible well rounded characters. Has anyone here read it? What did you think?

RIP Grandpa, you‘ll be missed💜
More Than This by Patrick Ness is easily of my favorite books of all time! With every page, you uncover- or begin, for that matter- a new mystery. You fall in love with (most) of the characters and are at least extremely passionate about the others. You really learn to adore all their flaws. This is a really thoughtful “what-if” book, and offers you a chance to really think about the events taking place. My only complaint is that it isn‘t endless.
Love love love this!!! 😍 This book reads like a mixture of The Matrix and Crouch‘s Dark Matter. It is fast-paced and makes you contemplate questions like what makes things and life real? Highly recommended!
I‘m so in love with this book. Half-way through now and hoping to finish it by tomorrow. 😊
Started this one last night and can‘t wait to get back to it. 😍
Thanks to Litsy, my book cases are overflowing, and I get the best recommendations on books. I've read far outside my usual since I joined, and I love it. Thanks everyone. #thenicestplaceontheinternet #1000reasons Congrats on 1000 followers @BookishTrish

is it a good or bad to end a book with questions?!?
i loved this book until the end. what happens next? will seth, and tomasz, and regine be Okay?
how does the information they gained change the world (all versions of reality)?
help! i need answers or at least an epilogue because a sequel would be too much to handle emotionally.
I've had a run of average books this week but this week and truly broke the disappointing streak. A fast, pacy, clever, funny, heartbreaking, tender, thought-provoking, uplifting YA blockbuster. All the adjectives. Nearly 500 pages just flew by but the story will linger. Image by cover designer Matt Roeser
More Than This by Patrick Ness: 3.5/5⭐️. Okay to begin with it was not exactly bad. It had so many OMG moments. . But also, the ending, to me, was disappointing. Like the plot was intense intense intense and then it just falls flat. Like.why. So, if you're into some kind of horror sci-fi + existential philosophy, this book might be a 4 or a 5 for you. My soul felt drenched reading this, I became emotional and stuff lol. It really messed me up smh.
Mind-blowingly brilliant. That's all I can say.

I had no idea what to expect from this book. As always Patrick Ness delivers a totally unique and great story. I loved the characters, especially Tomasz. I don't like getting answers to things, which is basically how this ended, but that seemed to be the point. Overall, this was just fantastic.
Really crappy day out so am making my way through More Than This. This book is blowing my mind! I absolutely ❤️❤️ Patrick Ness! So good!!
Stunning book. It has funny bits, it's extremely emotional at bits, you can feel intimacy and compassion towards the characters. As usual, Patrick Ness always keeps elements of surprise here and then. Just read it, you'll understand! 9/10
Has anyone read this?? It sounds so good! (Although every time I read the title I hear Brian Ferry! 🎶😆)
Today will be spent combing through one of my bookshelves to create my TBR pile for dewey's #24hourreadathon !!
I loved the idea of the story, not sure about the characters or the ending.
Didn't know what I was expecting when I picked up this book as it was the first one I've read from Ness but he delivers so well with the plot, the depth of characters and the philosophical undertones. A must read :)
Hard to choose a #favoritecover but I do notice my favorites tend to be highly stylized with great use of colour and font. I also love when the publishers play with covers and dust jackets by adding die cuts or unusual material or raised font, etc. Wish I knew all the technical terms :p #riotgrams #bookriot
Such a good read so far, it's a major page turner! I can't wait ro finish it but I'll also be sad to leave the world that Patrick Ness created. It's such a unique story and it reminds me of something from Black Mirror on Netflix. #morethanthis #patrickness
Comforting ourselves with story, so true.
Getting less Inceptiony and more Matrixy.
Struggled to get into this but as it twists I'm enjoying it more and more.
The 18th hour, I might achieve this #24in48
Y-aww-n. Feeling bleary eyed this morning. Truly a luxury to be able to spend so much time reading. Thanks significant other for taking our responsibilities bushwalking and camping. Back to it.
