3.5/5 ⭐ Some parts dragged a bit with pacing & characters being uncommunicative. The climactic action, while probably in the realm of "this could realistically happen," seemed off to me in tone & weak when Cullinan is usually so deft at conflict resolution. But the high points were glorious, & I cried at least twice. Excited to read the 3rd book focusing on side characters who desperately need their Happily Ever After. #projectSAMS #catsoflitsy
"In fact we are your second home, forever, full stop. You need milk money, somewhere to wash your clothes? You come to me. You need clothes? Me. A hug, a smile, a night at the movies--me."

"Baby, honey, hold on. We're almost there."
Aaron blinked. "You're almost where?"
"To Saint Timothy. We're merging onto 94 now. Give us another ten minutes."
"You're coming here?"
"Of course I'm coming there. Kelly too. Where are you? Where should I go to find you?"
The whole world peeled away, strange and hot and off-key. "But you can't come here. You're busy."
"Nothing right now is more important than you."
ACTUAL TEARS.

This is a sweet, hot, kind-hearted romance novel that reads like a queer Lifetime movie. The dramatic twists and turns may turn off some readers but the tone is consistant throughout, making the entire book a suspension of reality. Despite this, the author tackles intense and real issues with compassion and hope. I ended up devouring this book.

This book is one of the main reasons I love Heidi Cullinan's m/m romances. Her characters are the ultimate anti-alphas. They agonize. And sing accapella. Fall in love. #romantsy
Three Thoughts 1) loved this one though the WTFery at end did take me out of story 2) hated how Aaron & Giles spent so much time apart but loved how Cullinan wove the story & brought them together 3) filled with heart achy feels & can't wait for bk 3
Maybe it's meant to be, and maybe it isn't , but you need to try. Go in there and be fabulous, whatever the outcome.
