I've been in a bit of a reading slump, so I decided to reread an old favorite. This romance is about homesteading in Auatrailia and has a Western vibe. The Station is lots of fun- very steamy but also emotionally dense.

Hilarious, bizarre, irreverent and totally rad.
I loved this collection of graphic essays. 👍👍

I can see how this book became a modern classic. The tale of a young lesbian being rejected from her religious community was undoubtedly revolutionary. However, I didn't enjoy the fairy tale parables throughout the book. While some were clever, I personally would have preferred to read the main narrative.

Oof. This book is a tough one to review.
A compulsively readable M/M romance with lovable protagonists.
That being said, it gets tricky here when examining some of the aspects of the internalized homophobia expressed here, because if the bio of the author is believed she's a straight cis woman, which begs the question: Do the characters' struggles feel authentic or do they perpetuate stereotypes?

This was my favorite book in Heidi Cullinan's "Love Lessons" trilogy. I love romance novels that examine the psychological complexities of relationships, and this book definitely does that.
Cullinan also includes a romantic protagonist with a physical disability and a trans supporting character.

This is a sweet, hot, kind-hearted romance novel that reads like a queer Lifetime movie. The dramatic twists and turns may turn off some readers but the tone is consistant throughout, making the entire book a suspension of reality. Despite this, the author tackles intense and real issues with compassion and hope. I ended up devouring this book.

I loved so many parts of this story.
It's a queer romance! With a disabled vet! The author portrays grief in a realistic way! And the couple is cute! But....
The ending felt rushed and I really wanted to see the characters grow more as individuals and as a couple. The twist in the final chapters was so surprising it didn't feel real. So while it was enjoyable, I couldnt recommend it without caveats.
