Love, love, love me some Erika Foster. Just when you think Robert Bryndza couldn‘t possibly top himself, he does! Erika is one of my favorite female leads of all time. #bookworm #erikafoster #nightstalker #robertbryndza #thesuspenseisthrillingme

I enjoyed it, but I didn't find it as exciting as the first one, partially because the killer is revealed halfway through and you're left wondering how the killer will be caught. It made it kind of anticlimactic, but it is still a very worthy and entertaining read.
I am finally getting to this one! I am in need of a great thriller/mystery!
Wow, a thriller that I actually enjoyed! I couldn't put this down. Erika Foster, a detective for the Metro Police in a part of London, is a great character who never seemed to act in a way that made me roll my eyes (which happens so often in other thrillers). Very smart, well-written, and well-plotted. 4.5/5⭐
Read for the #Booked2019 category of Female Detective. @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

She looked at a framed photo sitting by the mirror. A handsome, dark-haired man... — her late husband Mark. His death was something she felt she would never get over, & this, coupled with the guilt that she was responsible for it, put a skewer through her heart many times each day....The image of him was frozen in her memories, in pictures. As the years passed, she would morph into an old lady, yet Mark would always be young & good-looking.
The second DCI Foster book is another good read. It is well-paced with twists and turns in the investigation. Fosters remains as brutal and abrasive as always. This is a good detective series; I will definitely be reading the next instalment Dark Waters. Good to see there are another 4 books to get stuck into

🔑Follows a serial killer who strangles men.
🔑Very predictable & severely lacking in suspense.
🔑Hated the killer‘s POV, which severely detracted from intrigue/intensity.
🔑Uses same professional conflicts in Erika‘s work environment from 1st book, which felt lazy & unimaginative.
🔑Provides interesting commentary on sexism in criminal investigations, esp. involving female killers.
🔑Homophobic dialogue by some characters.
🔑Boring.
🔑2.75/5.
I enjoyed the first one well enough that I decided to give the next book in the series a try!

Meh meh meh. Boring. Not bad. Predictable. Slow. Bland. So-so. I don‘t even know what more to say.
I give this one a 4/5 only because I didn‘t devour it. It was a good read & I‘ll continue on with the series!
2nd in this series and liking it so far. I started reading it ages ago & kept getting distracted lol! I‘m happy I‘m back into it now!
Here's the other Night Stalker book I have read this year, it just happens to fit the #rocktober theme for today, as it very quickly (too quickly in my opinion) became abundantly clear who the killer was and there were definitely #nosurprises. Spilt the book to a large extent for me.
Finished the 2nd book in the Detective Erika Foster Series. This was a very enjoyable and engaging read, but do think Erika needs to find a new way to do her job without being so antagonistic to those above her. There are a few surprises in this one compared to conventional serial killer books, although I think it's clear fairly early on who the killer is - I do feel this could have been kept back longer. Otherwise I do recommend the series.
Just started The Night Stalker by Robert Bryndza, and have to say I am already hooked. This is the second book in the Detective Erika Foster Series set in London. In the start of this one a doctor has turned up dead! Why we do not know, but I don't think it is the only dead body we are going to encounter in this book.

Is everyone's "to read" list cleaned up? That's what I look at to try to figure out books to buy someone if they don't post often! ?? This is going to be so much fun!!! ??☠️
Thanks for all your hard work @BookishMarginalia ?
Holy cheez balls! That was a gripping ride! Consider Robert Bryndza my new one-click buy! (I've already purchased the next two books in this series!) {Review will be up on my blog tomorrow. Link in bio.}
This is the second book in the Erika Foster series and I really enjoyed it! Both are great but this installment dealt with a unique serial killer and continued to develop Erika as a character. I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator did a great job of bringing life to the various players. I'm excited to read/listen to the next installment! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
So good! British detectives, and so well done! Loooooved the villain in this. It was terrific and unique in that you knew from the get go who the killer was, and the story unraveled through the backstory and motives. Great characters all around. Points for wide diversity too!
Next up on the audio list! Really liked the first in the series.
Don't like how the author makes Erika so wimpy. I keep wanting her to pump herself up. But I am still reading it and hope she gets stronger
This second book was an unexpected excellent mystery. Book 1 was on the weaker side but the author seems to have found his procedural groove. Satisfying serial killer mystery, strong female DCI Erika Foster main character and a touch of creepiness. Just what I needed in this 95 degree weather.
Excellent second outing for DCI Erika Foster as she searches for a serial killer taking out men by drugging and suffocating them in their own homes. Think I'll go and make sure all my doors and windows are locked. Again. 😧
The second book in the Erika Foster series! Love me some serial killer thrillers!
