I love the quote that Freya says "I am always surprised to discover that when the world seems darkest, there exists the greatest opportunity for light." This was on page 248. There was another qoute I liked but I forgot to mark it about playing cards. This book is one of my favorites for this year. Wish it was January already so I can see what happens next

Finished this book for #bookchallengebyerin10 for my Newberry Award prompt. I love how the story had different stories tied into it plus the illustrations were beautiful. I've already checked out another book by the author. I love fairy tales and I want to branch out of my comfort zone this year. I want to learn more Chinese stories since I have family who live there.

Thank you @TheDaysGoBy for my #Fallingforfallswap box. Cant wait to read Cursed and The Wonder of all things. The notebook and journal will help my writing since sometimes I don't know how to organize my writing. Hopefully bringing them along with me on my long cruise in 43 days. Love the owl mug and might make the cinnamon roll tomorrow for breakfast. The chocolate leaf was yummy too. Thanks again

It was an interesting book that at first was hard for me to read but in the end was great. Not sure yet which one of my challenges to put this book in. It was on #TOB2016 list and other award lists. It was based mostly in Russia during the Nazi era with different view points. Would like to read more stories from this author
