Heads You Win | Jeffrey Archer
Pickpick

An interesting 'sliding doors' concept that asks how big are the decisions you make at the fork in the road? Or will you end up back at the same point? A classic Jeffrey Archer tale - politics, formidable foes, love, business and intrigue that will keep the pages turning.

Fantastic, thrilling romantic suspense set in gorgeous Byron Bay in Australia. Thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Tara and Coop, and the action was well-paced and exciting. The characters both have interesting back stories, which created vivid and real characters. And their chemistry sizzled as a result! I won't spoil the ending but it was very romantic and a perfect fit for these characters.

Costa de Churros is a witty and satirical look at the lives of four British ex-pat women living in sunny Spain. On the surface they may have little in common, they quickly find themselves flung together and their friendship grows as they embark on their own personal journeys. A story of culture-clash, starting over and finding your inner spirit, Costa del Churros is a lively, fun treat that will brighten your day.

A fabulous debut! I adored this story of grief, moving on, families and second chances. Beautifully written with vivid characters, I felt the pain and challenges experienced by Pam as she is thrust into a life that doesn't resemble the one she had worked so hard to build with her late-husband. Realistic, warm and wise, not to mention, ultimately, rather uplifting, this book is one I'd highly recommend. Sarahlyn Bruck is an author to watch!

What a fabulous, original and engaging story. I loved the entertainment setting and dynamic characters who drove forward a fun and interesting plot. I read a lot of true crime but don't know a lot about the Golden State Killer. Who has read this? What did you think?

8little_paws I did. My coworker's roommate was attacked in their home in a style reminiscent of the GSK style about a month ago. I worry stuff like this inspires copycats, even though I found the book interesting. 7y
8little_paws Fortunately she survived, though the man escaped. She was stabbed, and he fled the scene before raping her as she fought back too hard and he hadn't realized there was a roommate home. 7y
Crazeedi I read this just recently. I liked half of it, but the part put together by editors was confusing and not well done. A shame she died before finishing and before the killer found. She had lots of stuff in her system according to to autopsy, a cocktail of meds that probably killed her, so sad (edited) 7y
See All 6 Comments
wellreadredhead I love that cover! 6y
Mem_ugh I have! I was in the middle of it when the GSK was caught, I really liked it but I agree that the parts put together after her death were not the greatest. 6y
CourtSmall I read the ebook and found there were a lot if typos and basic grammatical errors. Pity the author died of an undiagnosed heart condition before it was published 6y

Having read the first two books in the series, Soulweaver and the Truthseeker, I was keen to see how the story would end. We return to a environment and revisit a number of 'souls' from the first two novels. The story has a good pace, is beautifully written and the 'worlds' are well developed. I was thrilled with the ending - it tied together all the loose threads from the other volumes in an emotional and satisfying way.
