2020 is off to an AMAZING star! Happy New Year!! What is your first book of the year? Mine is "Big Lies in a Small Town" by Diane Chamberlain. This book starts out with a bang and I haven't been able to put it down since I first started it this morning. This book comes out January 9th. This is so horrible, but so unfortunately so truthful. I have a MAA degree, and used to work in the field, & witnessed this so often. There should be no reason for this at all. I know every hospital has a certain budget but if there are enough staff, then patient deaths caused by understaffing goes down, which means less chances for lawsuits from families who had someone die because of understaffing. 🤔🤔🤔Sorry end of rant! Just struck me so hard

Loved this book. Love a book that can make me laugh-out-loud, and this book did a few times. Loved how it flowed from the first page all the way to the end. If you loved the A&E show "Nightwatch" then this book is a must-read. You will be cheering, crying, laughing, and sometimes wincing as you read this book.

Absolutely wonderful & well-written. When I first learned of this book, all I could think was "ugh, another addiction book about pills and heroin from someone hasn't been through it." Boy, was I ever wrong. Beth Macy got up close and personal with addicts & I loved that she sees that in order to overcome the opioid epidemic, we aren't going to be able to arrest our way out of it, but instead listen to what the addiction community is saying.
