It took me a while to get into this book but I really enjoyed it by the end. I love reading stories with changing character perspectives every chapter and this one really pulled the threads together in the second half

I really enjoyed this book and the relationship between the characters. Sometimes I found the constant problem/solution loop frustrating but overall the story was great.

While I was looking for a lighter book to read, this grabbed my attention as I run with an amazing group of women. This I such an uplifting book about women friendships and supportive relationships, and triumph through difficult times. Bring tissues 🙂

A very confronting, honest and truly engaging memoir. Reading this, with the current violence against women protests ongoing, and post the disappointing failure of the Voice referendum, it makes you wonder if we are ever going to make significant progress in supporting marginalised communities and those less fortunate in society.

While it took me a little while to get into, I really enjoyed this book. The story, the investigation by the authors, the characters and the travel around the Australian Outback just make me want to go on an adventure.

While ostensibly a book about cycling around the world for six years this book is so much more. A reflection on humanity, a philosophical discussion of history and how the world is going wrong, but a celebration of humanity, love and kindness particularly from those who have so little.

What an amazing and devastating book. It took me a while to get into but from halfway through, it just built and built.
There are so many similarities between these times and today. Corporate greed and hate of others continue. We forget everyone is human, living and/or struggling with their own lives.
What a wonderful read. What wonderful strength and love among those with so little. I wish everyone read and reflected on this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It's an emotional roller coaster and it been a while since a story made me as annoyed and frustrated in so many different ways.
I'm so glad the world has progressed for women in so many ways, but small minded people continue to wreak havoc for many.

What an amazing story of an incredible series of journeys and an even more incredible woman. It‘s hard to imagine anyone undertaking such incredible adventures alone and self sufficient.

Such a wonderful book. A triumph of humanity and of living life to the fullest despite adverse circumstances.

Just an amazing book. A story of love amid a sea of hate driven by small minded people. How hate of minorities continues to this day is a tragedy of the human race.

Such a well researched and well written book. The minimization of women‘s lives not only by society in the 1930/40s but also subsequently by successive biographers is obvious and fury invoking.

What an amazing book. I haven‘t been as angry, ashamed, or cried as much reading a book as I have for a long time. A story of the cruelty and stupidity of society, both in the past and to this day, besides the strength and enduring love still given by those marginalized by it.
