Dr. Seuss has this fantastic (P) book to use in a CR. This book could be used in the classroom to expose P to young students. UDL 5.3 building fluencies and ESOL 4 link lesson topic to prior knowledge will help students learn about the different literary structures. cwright I definitely think this would be a good addition to a classroom but I never thought about K-6 — if I remember correctly some of the themes are more mature, but sometimes 5/6 graders are ready for that I think! 6y

Drummer Hoff adapted by Barbara Emberley and illustrated by Ed Emberley, is a TL that won The Caldecott Medal 🎖 and would be great for S. The book could be used in the classroom to benefit students because it‘s a fun engaging read that introduces them to poetry. The book consists of rhyming words and tells a story about how a cannon is built. It starts off with a drummer and ends with a general giving the order to fire the cannon.

Lila and the Crow is a RF book about how one young girl learns to embrace her uniqueness despite what her bully thinks, and I believe it would be an amazing book to use in the classroom for a RT.
